Right, here's another custom I have recently finished...used acrylics for the first time (there was a lot of trial and error) but I'm fairly pleased with the result.

I'll be putting the little fella up for sale in the coming days!

EDIT: some bigger pictures.

EDIT 2: NOW FOR SALE IN THE 'ITEMS FOR SALE' SECTION - feel free to PM me.

That is great! very realistic... so good in fact that I have nothing bad to say ;)

I would like to see bigger pictures though!

ooo this looks smart. love the eyes especially. Great detail on the fur and I like how you havent put the detail all over the body. looks good!

Thanks UNCLE...I'll post some bigger pictures soon..didn't want it too big to because I'm not sure if there is a max. image size that can be uploaded on here.

Thank you Cherry, I think the eyes are my favourite :) the fur took a long time to get right..was really hard to leave brush strokes to look like his fur and to shade it correctly. Yeah I was thinking about more detail to his body but I didn't want him to look too "busy" if you know what I mean...but he has got 'indications' of fur on the rest of his body.

Thanks for looking,

Aidy

bravo! oh man and with acrylics (which dries really fast) how did you get it to blend like that so perfectly? did you wet the acrylics first with water?

thanks! I used acrylic flow improver which seems to slow the drying process down a tad and helps with blending!

ahh never heard of that....what i do is i really soak the acrylic in water but it still dries pretty fast....how much is the acrylic flow improver?

I got it for £4.55 GBP so not too much.

It comes in a 75ml glass bottle and is made by winsor & newton (not sure if that brand is available in the US).

I find that water dries to quickly as well...i still use it a lot when painting but when it won't do I use the flow improver which is a little oily so it makes the paint stay wetter for a bit longer.
