Thank God It's Over

So SDCC is done and over with for me. Now that I'm back home and looking at everything I got, but not my bank account because it's just too gut-wrenching, I'm thinking back to all the incredibly difficult work I had to do to get everything. I'd say we waited in lines for over 24 hours altogether, and after all that work I'm seriously sick of toys altogether. So I just wanted to say goodbye to everyone; if I never see another toy again, it will be to soon. This is it; I'm never buying another toy.............

.....................for two weeks.

From talking to my friend who is there, it seems that a nice foot massage and soaking is needed after SDCC!

man i am so tired of reading about how worn out everyone is.....and how sdcc was such a hassle.

if you were working at a booth i could understand some of the complaining.....

but what could be more fun than hanging out with you friends and checking out the sights of sdcc......standing in line for toys is just part of it.....relax and accept it and have fun.

it's not as though anyone had to get up and fight a war while they were there.

all i am saying is get a little perspective.

oh, buy the way i had a blast at sdcc....and while i didn't get everything i wanted...i did still manage to put a pretty good hole in my bank account.

already looking forward to next year.

I'm really glad I went, but it was tiring. Long lines. Bad traffic cops. Tricycle mafia. Convention center staff that couldnt tie its own shoelaces. And only 10 toys purchased.

I would have had a better time if my lumbar/sciatic hadn't acted up and made every day filled with constant pain. Body surfing at Torrey Pines was a life saver though as was drinking here and there. The Gargamel party at The Whistle Stop rocked! A lot of cuties at the con kept my eyes busy and a smile on my face.

Next time I might throw in some time in TJ just to mix it up some more. And i am a bit bummed I missed some toys, often by a matter of minutes.

The small time artists seemed the most friendly and greatful for your patronage.

I was happy to see Grant Morrison talk a bit. Hopefully he'll have his own panel next year. I'd like to talk to him about how by writing Lex Luthar as US president he manifested GWB and that he owes it to the world to write in a good leader.

And I am hoping for some kind of Venture Brothers panel or booth next year as well.
