Five Points Festival
I was looking into flights for the fest, but I hadn't heard much buzz on instagram or the forums about it. Is anyone planning on going to this?
I just saw the Gary Ham Dunnys and they look on point. I was really hoping to snag some unique customs while there, but is Designer Con better for that?
What do you guys think!?!?!?!

Re: Five Points Festival
DesignerCon is still the number one Designer Toy convention. I hope Five Points is successful for the east coasters, but I haven't seen much in the lead up to it. Much like CurioCon.QTPie wrote:I was looking into flights for the fest, but I hadn't heard much buzz on instagram or the forums about it. Is anyone planning on going to this?

Re: Five Points Festival
its basically being slated as a Dcon for the east coast, the fact that the DTA's are the night before means you may get some talent in town cause of it.

Re: Five Points Festival
I'm going! I bought the VIP ticket more to support the DTAs then me thinking it's really that worth it. Listened to a podcast with Miranda on it and the DTAs are a huge amount of work without any real money being made for them so I like to support the scene when possible.
They have some pretty established names going as well as overseas producers (list so far here ) so I think it'll be legit for a first year showing. They've just done a piss poor job of promoting it.

Five Points is going to be great. Pretty stacked line up and the DTAs going on. If anyone from here is going, my booth # is 257, stop by and say hello.

Re: Five Points Festival
i feel like most of the risk actually falls on the person who is trying to get the mule, and not so much the other way around, so while i'm weary of new accounts i wouldn't turn people down for being new :P

Re: Five Points Festival
Everyone has to start somewhere, that's fair. As someone who mules (not for 5Points, so don't PM me), I've been screwed by people because they change their mind or w.e. after I already have the product. Doesn't matter how crystal clear I lay things out beforehand.
I have a bunch of thoughts on this, but simply put, I would rather help someone that has given back to the community in one way or another. Not just someone who is looking for an easy assist.

@666ways2love @endo24
ah i see what you mean now sorry for misinterpreting your message
aww no, maybe if you take a small commission fee before hand it may help prevent cancellations, and then refund when you can't get the item? Hmm.. but i understand where you're coming from
I think the only experience ive had with ppl muling for me is that they end up getting those items for themselves haha

Re: Five Points Festival
basically it comes down to this, Paypal will always try and protect the buyer first. There are steps you can take to help yourself out as the person who is muling the item, but the potential of losing both the item and the cash, is a possibility. Thats why people really only feel comfortable dealing with people who have a decent reputation. on someone who posts say 1-10 on the boards, and no one has dealt with, its a risky situation.
