Right you are. Thanks a lot! I can't tell you how many pics I've seen and hours I've spent looking at them online. I even saw them in person at his show at the Aldrich Museum. But unboxing it for yourself in person is just the greatest. I can't stop smiling!!

That right there is why I collect - appreciation  anticipation  and then the moment of truth when its finally in hand! Makes all other things like future value, what other people think etc, pretty irrelevant

Post up some pics when you get it situated!

I couldn't agree more! I'll post pics once it's safe and finalized in my bell jar. I've been searching for the perfect bell jar, and once I get it, I'll show everyone my new piece. I might actually get a custom bell jar, which would be pretty sweet. I'm waiting to hear back for a pricing quote, and if it's too much, I'll just order a nice one online.

Same. My black and mono have a tiny lean, but my brown is perfect.

Looks like ToyQube has the new 1000% up for pre-order. Not sure what they retailed for at OF, but they're $575 at TQ.

Toyqube has been known to do 2-3x markups...I'm guessing real retail is about 350-400.

Toy Tokyo does the samething its the way of the reseller..the Stussy store in NYC still has the Snoopy they are selling them at $245. they pay whatever Kawsone charge and mark it up 30%. Thats the way they always been, same as Colette which sold them at €410 forgot what the price was without VAT, but either way that converts to $535 not including shipping.

At the end of the day Kaws can't really do much, the print game is the same way man as well as other art pieces. There's always going to be a secondary market. We're all stuck in this little bubble of a world where theres collectors and flippers.

He's also on a whole other level now. I saw the 6ft Chum Canvas at Frieze this weekend and it sold for $80K. White two other piece on charity auction going from 10-16k each for 12x12 to 16x16.

That totally makes sense. The flipper game is very sucky, but it's something we all have to deal with in the toy game. Nothing we can do about it.

I believe resellers mark Kaws up so much because OF doesn't provide much of a wholesale rate. Kidrobot's wholesale price is 50% of retail so resellers can offer a fair/similar price to KR. Stores have to make money and if the wholesale cost is around the same price as the OF price, the markup makes sense.
