Finally got my hands on a detolf, but I'm having trouble getting the door in. The door is the same length as the rest of the glass pieces, so its too tall once the rest of the cabinet is assembled. Am I missing something stupid here or did I have a piece cut wrong? Unfortunately I'm 4 hours away from an ikea so if its a problem return really isnt an option

its been awhile but i believe the back glass piece has a sticker on it. the 2 sides should be the same height and the door should be just a bit smaller. try and stand them up and see if theres a slight difference in them.

I measured, all 4 glass pieces are 62" tall. Only the back side has the safety sticker but the "door" has the exact same dimensions as the back

Bummer... guess I'll call and see if they can do anything but with no store anywhere close I might have to go doorless

If anyone has a minute to measure the height of the door it would be much appreciated. I will just try to score the glass and cut it to size

Well I just realized the door is actually a duplicate of the back piece and it is tempered. It would shatter if I tried to cut it :(

Such crappy luck

Call ikea and ask them if you could take back just that one side and get another one from one of their boxes. this way you wont have to take the whole thing. Kinda sucks that its gonna be a 4hour drive though.

Ikea customer service is a nightmare. Don't trust what they say on the phone. You'll need to bring back the whole thing.

It would cost $50 in gas just to return it so I'm stuck with what I have. I'm either going to try a local glass shop like gecko suggested or mount the door on the outside edge

i think i may know the problem but, then again, i might be wrong...i had the same problem on my second detolf...i'm guessing it's after you slide the bottom metal piece that you can't get the top metal piece in the hole? if that's the case, loosen the top four bolts a bit so you can lift the top board a bit and slide the door in place and tighten everything back up

i had an issue with my deltof where one of the sides were too big. Realized i used the wrong glass piece. You absolutely sure the three are the same size?
call ikea see if they will deliver it to you. Wouldn't hurt. Or buy another one online and when you get it and get the correct glass piece return it. The should have a free return policy? maybe lol. Im sure thats less of a hassle than to go to a glass cutter. Im sure that would cost more than 50$

Yea there's no debate its the wrong piece. It's a 100% clone of the back panel (only without the safety glass sticker). I'm sure someone ended up getting a cabinet with 2 doors, which would actually probably work fine once it was all put together.

Ikea would charge a couple hundred bucks to ship a detolf to me... must be using freight. I'm pretty much stuck with what I got. I can pick up a couple parts at home depot and mount the door to the front of the cabinet which will look a little goofy but it will work

Yeah ikea shipping is the dumbest crap ever. My air compressor was 45$ shipped and weighs far more than a detolf and was in a bulky rump box.
