WonderCon 2012

WonderCon is in Anaheim this year, and they just released their list of exhibitors. Per usual, not too many vinyl toy vendors, mainly just Super 7 and Kuso Vinyl. http://www.comic-con.org/wc/wc_exhib.php

Anyone going? I've got passes, but it's my first time so I'm not sure what to expect. It seems like just a small version of Comic Con.

it looks like the toybreak crew will be there, looks like a good convention. i decided i didnt have time to plan for sdcc this year so im heading to designercon myself.

When it was in the Moscone Center it was a much nicer and less stressful mini version of Comic Con. For anyone hoping for time to speak with favorite artists or retailers WonderCon is ideal for that. Not sure if the Anaheim location will change that, but most likely not since big announcements and Hollywood crap doesn't overwhelm this one.

Smurf!!! was planning on going, but with the crappy weather, i'm not goin to make it. it's supposed to snow where i'm at. :doubt:

I'll be there working booth 596 (Utilikilts) I'll have three custom 3" dunnys for sale as well as a few drawings. Look me up, I'll be the tall guy in the booth that doesn't have a red beard.

I just got back from WonderCon. I had a mixed reaction to it. The venue was awful. Anaheim's convention center is right by Disneyland, so parking is a nightmare. They decided at the last minute to make everyone park five miles away and take shuttle buses in, but didn't bother to put up signs or anything.

However, the convention was fun. I showed up to Twentieth Century Fox's panel on Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Prometheus fifteen minutes before it started and still got in. The exhibitor floor was okay. Not much vinyl. There were plenty of cosplay people and other fun sights, though. I'd imagine WonderCon is probably a really great time in San Fran, but not so much in Anaheim.

Yes Wondercon in SoCal was awful. Hopefully it comes back to it's rightful place in San Francisco next year.
