Here's hoping the quality of the bootlegs goes up after they get ahold of those wax candles.

The trouble is they aren't all clearly fake... and buying them encourages (and gives funding) for fakes to get better.
Dissected Companion prices have been falling, and I don't think we're clear on whether those "good fakes" are actually fake !??

yeah i think too many people jump on accusing things of being fake and can't tell the difference. it is so highly unlikely that there are any fake dissecteds. it's much more complicated to make and paint and i've never seen any that didn't look real. The thing about the feet being close together is just silly. vinyl will harden differently sometimes and warping is always common in production pieces. ive personally never had a problem telling the difference between fakes and it just pays to do your research. I bought a chum in hong kong from superman toys and was very careful about making sure it was real because i had never had one up close. once i discovered kaws is very close with the shop and they had special pieces like a red eyed accomplice it felt safe to buy. people just need to do their homework and i think most buy bootlegs knowing what they're buying.

Just a follow up to the fake dissecteds, ronnicshop received a negative feedback for a fake Lazzarini this month. KInda curious as to what's going on, and a little more skeptical of these "trusted sellers" from Hong Kong than I was before.

I'm more skeptical of the idea that people are faking Lazzarinis. That doesn't exactly seem like a money making venture to me. You can't give away the real thing, so why would somebody go through the expense of bootlegging them? And I'm equally skeptical about the alleged fake dissected Companions. I don't think the evidence is there.

Agreed. Does anyone have a link or more info about the alleged fake Lazzarini? Seems silly to me

How can this seller sell companion after companion after companion for a little over $1K consistently? Isn't that a red flag?

I think anyone willing to spend that much money on anything should do their research beforehand. if they don't they should learn from their mistake. regardless, i can almost guarantee that nothing bought for over 1k is actually fake.

If it was a Vader or Stormtrooper for retail, you could bet money they wouldn't last a day.

Before Original Fake, being a completist of collecting Kaws was a feasible idea, since the ice cream bar things, whatever they're called, that changed. Now people can more easily choose the pieces they like and not worry about every little release.

i really wish that brian moved away from kawsbob. i HATE that character!!! i want one of those round paintings, but the fact that all of them are based on kawsbob takes me to auto-hate mode...haha. i really love how the colors pop. i know that he did a blk/dark variation of the circle paintings and even those were pretty dope...minus the fact those too were based on kawsbob.

are the ones that have been displayed at his shows for sale?

I guess I’m the opposite, I always hated Spongebob. It wasn’t until Kaws started putting his twist on the character whether it’s his simple pieces like the Kawsbob prints or more abstract references like you see in his newer paintings that led me to like the character.

Now whenever I see Spongebob whether it’s a set of kids birthday party plates or the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade float I think & see Kaws.

Same goes for the Michelin Man.
