FAKE 8" BLANK DUNNY ON EBAY ?

Hi all,

Wanted to share a bad experience i had on ebay with you , and recieve your advices about the situation.

I bought a 8" factory blank dunny (seller : art-now)
The item description:
[bSize: 8" Dunny
Factory Blank Kidrobot Dunny.
Super Rare.
Never sold to public.][/b]

When i received it, i noticed the size and shape was a little weird, so i grabbed on of my dunnies on my shelf, and compared it. The blank one is a bit more little than a OG dunny. For me it's a fake, but as i've never had a blank dunny certified in hand, i don't know if their size can be a little different.
Another thing, the dunny i received has some depression QC's on the head right part.

I received the blank Dunny you sold to me, and this product is obviously a fake. His size and format are different from the OG ones. I coolect dunnies since 7 years, and i'm very used to this plateform toy.
I took comparison pics of your fake dunny with an OG one, if you want i can sent you the pics, just need an email adress.
Your description for the dunny you sold to me is :

If i had known it was a fake, i would have never bought it.
I want a total refund for this object,

We do not sell fake. You can bring it to kidrobot store to check with them if you don't believe us. I personally brought one to new york kidrobot shop to check before i sell these. We are sure is 100% real.

So, i'm open to send the dunny back , but only if you cover the shipping , from France to your area, it will be 35$.
And i think i'll drop a line to Kidrobot customer service with my pics, to have their opinion, cause this is weird, i already saw blank 8" dunnies, they are the same as the production ones. And the one you sold to me isn't eactly the same.

So, of course i won't send it back, cause the shipping from France to HK will cost me about 35euros (which is almost the price i paid for the dunny).

I think i'll open a claim on Paypal, and give information to ebay team about this seller selling Fakes, but before i need to be 100% sure it is fake (even if i'm almost it is).

Please guys can you give me your thoughts, and a right kidrobot email adress (not the cs i guess) where i can send the pics, to know their point of view ?

8" Dunny molds have changed over time. It could just be a blank from years ago. Compare it to a Dunny from the time of the White Hate, Dalek Divers time. The MAD Ninja is from later.

Never buy anything from Hong Kong. Just assume from the start that it's fake.

That's almost always the case. I was just there and surprisingly didn't see any Dunnys but only got a couple hours for toy shopping. I found some bootleg Kaws but they were way overpriced for actually being in HK.

Eggy Dunnys can be stripped and look like blank Dunnys so I think some people have tried that as well.

i cant 100% agree with this statement since i actually ordered the DIY bambaboss from HK for cheap and it came in the 3A box still sealed on the DIY BB card with plastic holding it in place lol so SOME things are legit ....i think it all depends on people selling 'factory' stuff as reals ...i ordered one of these blanks T has as well and mine looks about the same with the wobbly head and space between the body and head ...personally i think they are either old ones like stated before or they are the rejects off the line being sold for profit ...no way to tell really unless we had a KR person let us know whats going on with them

Kr doesnt release blanks so its either fake or one too crappy to be used in production...dont buy things like this. If the company doesnt sell them, why would you want one anyways? Coach doesnt make a $10 handbag, just cuz an ebay listing says its real, doesnt mean its true

KR does release blanks to their artists. Not as much as they used to because people would flip them, but they still give them out if you ask nicely. They just don't sell them. Also family and friends of the right people have gotten their hands on blank Dunnys. My friend's mom has a 20" blank.

I agree with akn220. I knew blank dunnies were gived to artists (but not gived away if asked kindly! ^^)

And of course lots of products from HK are fake, but not all.

Ah, then it sounds like it's probably a fake. Hopefully you didn't pay too much for it, but it still looks awesome.

Yeah I understand that. You can always open a claim. It all depends on your morals, but Paypal is always in favor of the buyer with this kind of stuff and you could probably get your money back and never have to return it. Scam the scammer

There seems to be something wrong with the hands too, the space between the thumb and the fingers looks to be more narrow.

Cut it up just enough to make the lines barely visible to the naked eye. You could always look at their previous history to see how many they sold. And if they sold a large amount or sold them regularly then you can tell if it's a fake or not they won't go through all of that trouble just to sell one blank dunny.

But is the Customer Service concerned with this kind of things?

And guys, thanks for your advices, but i don't want to cut/paint/etc this, as i'm in search of a 8" blank dunny to display it this way.

As for the seller, i've just seen he's selling a lot of blank dunnies, so of course they're fake.
Also, i want to let him a bad feedback,but as he hadn't let one to me yet, if i give a neg feedback to him, for sure he'll do the same for me. Is there a way to avoid this?

Doesnt hurt to try to contact 'em. Legit blank ones in the past came packaged in a blank white box with the arms and head not attached.

Maybe ask KR nicely if they will trade yours for a genuine blank, this way you both benefit, you get the blank you wanted, KR get to check the one you have over thoroughly and can take the relevant legal action if its a fake, if its genuine, then they haven't lost anything.
