Best events around LA/SD?

Hi all, I very recently started art toy collecting, and am moving to LA next week. Do you guys have suggestions for what events to look out for? SDCC sounds like the biggest one, but I'm sure there are others. They look like a lot of fun, so any ideas would be appreciated =)

Dcon looks pretty sick..it has already past tho but look for it next year...and when events are coming up theres usually a lot of buzz around the boards..

SDCC in July, Designer Con in Nov, and this year WonderCon is in Anaheim in March.

Cool, thanks. Do the same companies/artists go to all of these? Or what are the main differences between them?

Most major companies have a presence at ComicCon. DesignerCon doesn't have Kidrobot, but it has most other companies and tons of artist signings, and they're getting bigger each year (Circus Posterus came this year!). This will be my first year going to WonderCon, but looking at their vendors from last year, it looks like it's somewhat limited in terms of vinyl. I think it's a Con for people more into comics who don't want all the other distractions.

Yeah SDCC has big releases, and just all craziness. Designer Con is my Favorite, DCON 2011 was awesome, and 2012 will be bigger and better.
