I honestly just want to receive the item I paid for from ArtAsylumBoston and call it a day, as I'm sure everyone else who can't receive the order they paid for does. The thing is they have said one thing and done another over and over again. Even more than a month after payment, if they would just deliver it I'd be happy. Nothing they do other than get the package to me will result in me having anything nice to say about them.

Not sure this is the right place for that.
If he took your money, and stopped talking to you, that would be a problem, but just because he didn't respond, isn't a huge deal. I send messages out all the time that don't get responded to.

It is rude though

^ That's why I only buy from people I've bought from before. They usually have what I need.

I hope these issues gets resolved because this seems to be a growing issue.

I have a general question (but first some background):

I was involved in a transaction wherein I pm'd a seller, agreed on a price, paid for an item via PayPal and was told it would ship right away. A few days later, I get a note from PayPal saying my money was refunded. When I contacted the seller, they said that they didn't get a chance to ship it and now they can't because they are out of the country. Given that the point of sale was to unload some items because they were moving, I would think that should have been no good reason to have not stopped off at a post-office and sent the package.

How often does something like this happen? I am a little upset, as I feel that if you agree to sell something to someone and they pay you, you make sure they get their stuff. As a new collector (and new to this forum), I don't want to step on any toes, but it's really disappointing to get excited for something only to have the seller back out.

I've got all of the pre- and post-refund pm's between the seller and I, if anyone needs more background. I didn't want to post any details up here right away, as there is no need to drag anyone's name into the mud if this isn't a big of a deal as I perceive.

Thanks in advance for any advice,
CJ/TractorInc

in the grand scheme of things, this is honestly the best you could hope for in such a situation. the seller could have been a little more communicative, but the fact that they refunded you without being asked is pretty on the level.

Good point. I suppose I need to come to terms with the fact that the day's of handshake agreements and high standards are well in the past.

That being said, the majority of my interactions so far have been wonderful. It's nice to be able to ask (sometimes obvious) questions and get a non-condescending response.

Thanks.

It seems like only bad sellers and scammers get called out here but I feel buyers should be held accountable to.
I was "begged" to hold a Huck 2tone by nguyenma. After guaranteeing me that they would buy it, I marked it as pending and turned away many other buyers for two days. Then when I asked if they were going to pay they tell me they found another and "forgot". At least be honest and tell me you found a better deal and let me know right away that you don't want it....
Now because of nguyenma I have to change my policy, - No more holding items unless I have done good transactions with you before.

No one do any favors for this kid!

Sorry if this is petty or doesn't belong here but I feel that this happens way too much and this make me not want to do favors for others

Wow, TractorInc!!! You are a new bordie and managed to get a refund from your Seller?!?

Please, tell me your secret!... I've been trying to get a refund due to a bad transaction for almost a month now! This is the first time it happens to me and I can tell you: it SUCKS!!!

I have the same opinion as you: "if you agree to sell something to someone and they pay you, you make sure they get their stuff".

The worst part is being ignored by the Seller... It's funny how easy it is for a Seller to tell he has fallen on hard times and needs to sell off his Collection; but he instantly forgets how difficult it must be for his Buyers to spend hard-won money on toys they get excited to add to their own Collections.

Today, I finally got full refund from Simon.
He also sent me a PM telling that if I ever receive the toys, I can keep them at no charge.
Thanks, Simon and Kidrobot bordies! Case closed.

Just a small warning for anyone looking to deal with board member "johnpaulgrim". I won't go into specifics but we had set up a trade in which he had supposedly shipped an item to me but could not provide a tracking number. A few days later another board member and friend tells me that he is offering the same item to him in a potential trade. He even snapped a picture of it after which my friend forwarded it to me as proof. Also, it was not an extra as he had claimed he only had one of those. I honestly believe he was hoping I'd send out my part of the trade in order to scam me. And at one point he wanted to set up a wire transfer and asked for my bank account info :| Please take caution when dealing with him, and if you have something already going with him, back out now while you still can.

Soft As Sin...

-Item was delivered 6 weeks after payment was sent
-PM's/emails were not responded to

He claimed to have been too busy with school to get the item mailed out. If you have the time to set up the fs thread and collect money from people, then you have the time to put something in a F#$@ing box and drop it off at the post office.

MDizzle007 promised a refund due to the items he sold me being damaged, presumably in transit. I sent the items, now more than a month later I haven't got my refund, and he hasn't been back to the site.

Feel free to PM if you have a trade going with someone in Queens NY, I will happily corroborate his real name/paypal to make sure you aren't being burned by the same guy with a new account.

bulletto contacted me on Oct. 4th. He replied to a WTB post I put up. I was (and now still am) looking for a 3A Boiler Zomb. He claimed he had one and even sent me pictures. We agreed on a price of 180.00 bucks and I sent him the money via Paypal right away on the morning of the 5th. I didn't hear from him until the 13th of Oct. when he sent a message saying 'sent out today. I'll send tracking later'. Never heard from him again. It is now the 23rd of Oct. I've sent multiple messages politely asking for info. Tracking information or anything. This cat doesn't seem to have the time to respond. I'm pretty sure I've been burned! Sucks by the way. Never had a scam artist take me. The only reason I joined the board was to find a Zomb, and my first interaction with a KR board member turned out to be this dude. I'm gonna wait one more day before I contact Paypal, but I wanted to warn the good folks on this board that there may be another con man among you!
If this bulletto dude does try to make this right, I'll let you all know.

Was hoping that I would never have to come to this part of the forums but recently had a issue with a trade with toknenong

We set up a trade, my 2010 beast bros for his 2010 gold apples. We both shipped on the same day with tracking and both provided the number to each other.

A few days went by and USPS reported my item as delivered, but I hadn't received anything. I quickly contacted USPS to see if anything went wrong with the delivery/where it went etc. They had no information for me, so I figured it's a possibility that the sender could've potentially written the wrong address (as this has happened to me before).

I contacted toknenong to ask if he remembered the address he used, and he confirmed it as the correct one. He seemed very wiling to help and said he would see if he could do anything and contact USPS to see if he could get any info. I've been messaging him for 1-2 weeks and he has read my messages but not responded to any of them.

Although, I have no evidence of this, a potential theory, is that he shipped it to a different address in my zipcode, so that the tracking showed it as delivered. With no proof, I can't really do anything, and I'm not saying that he did do this.

Initially, I was giving him the benefit of the doubt as it seemed that he was wiling to help, but now he is simply ignoring messages and refusing to respond, so I will have to post this warning to anybody that is thinking about making a transaction with toknenong. Regardless of whether or not he is a scammer, he has shown very poor communication and follow through in this transaction.

Might no be his fault,

I've been trying to get a package to my house for over a month.
The post office has screwed it up twice. And the DC# shows it as delivered, twice!
Not the sellers fault, its just that the post office doesn't care if there is a f#ck up.
And the DC# tracking can be wrong, found that out the hard way.

if you hold on to a $500 dollar piece that someone says they will buy, they give you a $300 dollar deposit, then make you sit on the toy, all boxed up, for 3 months before asking for a refund, what would you do? I gave the guy a full refund, but I sure wasn't happy about it, especially because he posted all these other brand new and expensive toys he'd picked up in the meantime...

Thats tough because its such a large 'deposit' but also such a long time he made you wait for nothing. I would have held on to the $300 until the toy sold again, and deducted any difference if you couldn't get full asking price anymore

Yea sometimes the Post office doesn't do their job right... =\
I had a trade with Nutter and his item was delivered to me within a few days! But the items I sent him weren't received for about a month!!! I checked trackin everyday and watched it move from post office to post office and back without ever getting to him! I was afraid it was lost as I've never had a bad transaction with a boardie here before. I called facilities and was just given te run around, then Finally I made a claim online at the post office website and within just a few days of the claim it was finally delivered to him! =)

Damn USPS!!

if you hold on to a $500 dollar piece that someone says they will buy, they give you a $300 dollar deposit, then make you sit on the toy, all boxed up, for 3 months before asking for a refund, what would you do? I gave the guy a full refund, but I sure wasn't happy about it, especially because he posted all these other brand new and expensive toys he'd picked up in the meantime...

Thats tough because its such a large 'deposit' but also such a long time he made you wait for nothing. I would have held on to the $300 until the toy sold again, and deducted any difference if you couldn't get full asking price anymore

that sounds more complicated that I would have liked, but thanks. This makes creating a payment plan with someone more of a pain that it has to be.
