This was my first one, done with a gold coat, then the water and flowers, then some glod leaf added and hit it with a clear coat or 2:

This was my second one. The clock is fully functional. The only thing is, there are not the final pics. I gave this Munny as a gift and I didn't have time to take pics of the final. It was send to my Godson, so maybe I can have him take a pic of the final when it arrives. I used brass screws first, then removed them, hit it with 2 coats of rustolium Hammered Copper for that rusted/aged effect, then did the black detail. After the black, I used a darkened tan mixed with a touch of silver to highlight the black lines, bolt dots and roman numerals. I kind of rushed this one because I wanted to give it as a gift. Next one I really want to take my time on.

head opens on hinges and the inside is gold. you can replace the clock battery and set the clock easily.

put a rub on sticker on the arm. reminded me of old school robotech.

some recessed gears on the chest.

Hope you like!

if you want to make a munny clock, check out hobby stores for clock replacement mechanisms. I went to this place called Hobby Lobby and picked one up for 5.99. it fits perfectly inside the munny's head, but you have to cut it like I did because it's square and has a long cylinder where the clock hands attach. all you have to do is stick a battery in the clock mech and then attach the arms, no other tinkering is needed.

it's really cheap and easy to make.

i've been inspired by some of the munny speakers i've seen on here and i think i want to try one of those next.

I think I'm mostly freaked out by cutting the Munny. Did you heat it first? What kind of blade?

I've only just started custom munny's, half way through my second, so cutting is a bit too advanced for me :-( #-o

cutting the munny was a scary experince for sure =) but honestly, it's nothing you can't fix. what i did was make a tape mask of the area i wanted to cut, then traced that area with a pencil. from there i just lightly went over the pencil line about 3 times for each section of the square, pressing just enough to cut into the vinyl. it went very smoothly. then i soaked the head in hot water for about 5 mins, pushed the blade (xacto) into one of the corners of the square and followed my pre-made cut for each of the 4 sides. i cut them on a sort of angle so the door would rest properly and flush when it was closed. it was pretty simple. the xacto didn't slip off the vinyl or anything. i think making the light pre-cut lines made a difference, and then the hot water softening the head up, it just let the xacto glide through with little pressue, but nothing that i felt i could control.

I've actually put mine in the oven for about 10 min at a low temp (275). It wont melt, but it makes the vinyl really soft. Just be careful.

Oh, and I like your customs by the way. The colors on the gold one really work well. I like it a lot.

Awesome work. I love the waves on the first.

The clock is awesome. I think I may have to "borrow" that. Both of my brothers just had their first kid (each) and I've been struggling to think of a gift for each of them. Now I'm thinking a clock made out of a Glow In The Dark Munny might make a good nightlight clock for each kid. Thanks for the idea. :)

Waited too long, got sick, vacationed in hospital couple times, & think I missed out. But I put it in my sig just in case someone knows of 1 for sale. That I can afford. :)

I think you're definitely on to something with the application of the gold leaf! It adds really nice texture- it would be difficult to get tinky fragile crinkles like that with another material. The patchiness of the application is interesting, and I bet could be worked into other different compositions.
Was the gold leaf expensive? A whole custom (even a 3" Dunny?) covered only in gold leaf would be interesting to see, because of the texture.

The clock piece is great too! It tickles me to see the clock face is the figure's face too ^^;
