SDCC after hours (parties/events)

Post by paul » Sun Jul 07, 2013 7:25 pm

One of the more complicated parts of SDCC is deciding what to do each night. Most industry parties are invite-only, so I wanted to compile a list of after hours events that are open to the public. Feel free to reply with more, and I'll add them to the list. Try to make sure they're SDCC themed in some way and not just unrelated concerts/shows.

Super Hero Industry Night at Side Bar – Wed, July 17
Attending Comic-Con preview night on Wednesday? Celebrate at Side Bar’s super hero themed Industry Night party. If you dress up as your favorite super hero, you’ll get hooked up with free cover and drink specials. And you won’t be alone: bartenders, VIP hosts and bottle service girls will be decked out in super hero attire.
Free w/ costume, 9pm to 2am, sidebarsd.com

Hop-Con: W00tstout Festival at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Wed, July 17
The new Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens isn’t within Comic-Con walking distance, but it’s well worth the cab ride. Especially on Wednesday, when Stone CEO Greg Koch teams up with actor Wil Wheaton and fark.com creator Drew Curtis to tap the new Farking Wheaton w00tstout. Be the first to taste the Comic-Con brew. Your ticket gets you eight 4oz beer samples, appetizers, a bottle of w00tsout and possibly a handshake from Wesley Crusher himself.
$49, 5 to 9pm, brownpapertickets.com

Munky King Party at BASIC – Thurs, July 18
Once again, Munky King is kicking off Comic-Con weekend at BASIC in East Village. Get ready for live art battles (paint! markers!), emcee John Stokes of SpankyStokes.com and DJs R-Rated and Colby.
