oooo ok now i wanna know when your gonna fill us in on you "ace", ace.

[ Added: Thu Apr 10, 2008 7:41 pm ]
I gotta say i also used a Bag approach but to make it more neat so to speak i used Hefty Zip lock bags, in 4 different sizes. SO to all you who used them i think it was way smart to use bags. Also i did see some Duritos bags with it but if im not mistaken they do us a "AND" in the title altho my guess is most everyone used them so i dont think it will make a difference i think youll all be fine. Not to mention theres no sense in worrying now they already got sent in.

^^ looks awesome, dude!!!

You've got some friends who are great artists, or you are! those characters are spot on!
way to make yours stand out. you beat me on the box, hands down.
(at least the outside box)

here are my pics~

but i too, tried to make it special, and i wanted it to be fun and exciting to open the boxes. so i painted them and put a theme to each box. some have kr box themes, others are decorated with some of my customs~
Image

and packed to go!
Image

i'm going to have to agree with rsnart, tacune deserves to win--something! i'm going to make my case for the ace on the other thread now~

great pics, jangee!

yeah, your gramps looks pretty chill in that dope shirt~ you'll have to tell him he should get one.

i laughed thinking if i had brought that shirt. i didn't know the old folk in my photo, and if it had had anything violent, ther is NO WAY they would have done it for me. this was one of my most frustrating items. it really was hard to find a grandma and grandpa who aren't scared of cameras. or me . . .

and how did you get to that tortoise to put the splitter on him? good stuff! (respect the tortoises, people, they've been around a lot longer, and will be around a lot longer, than you and i~ no really, if you didn't know, they live HUNDREDS of years. people aren't quite sure how long cause the oldest tortoise they've been counting for a few centuries keeps right on tickin')

once again, good job!

and, yeah, tacune, that lite-brite is pretty ol skool. or maybe i should say a classic, and it still works like a charm!

my etch-a-sketch was mine from agrowing up and probably from 1980 or something. and also still working great!

i'm glad i participated in this hunt, too. it really hit on a lot of things from my youth~love it!

Thanks guys!

The old man is my across the street neighbor. I barely know him, but he was a good sport about putting on the shirt. He is also the person I got to blow the smoke ring, unfortunately he was really awful at it.

Yes, it's probably the same Dunny on the Light Brite. I have no artistic ability at all, so I printed out a Dunny from my computer and used it as a template.

The turtle was very cooperative and my figure was extremely tired from a long day at the aquarium.

The restaurant is IHOP, it's not really my favorite, but that's where the kids wanted to go. That is their pancakes for the new Horton Hears a Whoo movie.

( I used to win a lot of art shows) she said I should had tried harder. By she's still mad I didn't go to the art institute for the free ride they offered me. I have 3 little girls (4, 7, and 10) and they had a blast helping me. They want to start their own collections of designer toys. For Christmas, they ask me to put Dunnys, etc. in their stockings. I also have 2 older children (18 and 20), they are the ones who originally got me started on this toy craze, and helped me with the Doma Hunt last year. I started buying them stuff, but fell in love with it myself. Yes, I am a young 44 year old.

not gonna lie, i've been trying not to think about the whole thing pretty much since you posted all your stuff.

not like im a sore loser or anything, its just hard to think about after you put all this effort into something you know?

so i've tried to put it in the back of my mind, its just easier to let things go.

and i hope you do win, obviously you need it.

but im sure a lot of people probably felt this drop in their stomachs when they saw all your stuff like i did.... lol

but dude i do love you man, and you kicked rump on this thing

so i hope you the best!

i guess i can just see why people have kinda let it go-
unless people are in your situation, i bet its almost easier not to think about

but anyways

my salt and pepper shakers were black and gold spray painted ones i jacked from my college cafeteria

and they said-

----->
im with
salt

and

<------
im with
pepper.

lol

huh? i hear what you're saying, but i guess i'm still a little puzzled.

if this is about the journey, like many people were saying earlier, why not enjoy this part, too?

the salt with pepper, Hilarious!!! good job!

and thanks, I guess?

so check it out, here's a situation, when you go out to eat, and you order your sweet&sour chicken and it only comes with one side. but you want the fried rice AND the egg rolls. well, you can have both, but it will cost extra.

and you can get the crystal pepsi, OR the cucumber pepsi . . .

I brought this mentality to my approach to the hunt. and all along, i thought others were doing it, too. maybe some are but not posting

and as for the kidrobotization of many items, i was just trying to show my love for kr, and i thought, i still think, that many people creatively did similar things (as evidenced by the photos from last years contest-thanks jangee!). and if this is about the journey (as people were saying last week), why not post pics? Please do!!!

and all along, I though others were going for a complete list, too. once again, maybe some are. I'm not counting on anything, and i don't know what to think. but i am so excited!!!

and i'm sorry if you felt 'intimidated', that was never my intention. if you don't believe me, check any thread on this hunt topic. i have played this game in a way that i am proud of. I have helped out whenever I could, both on the boards and person to person. And that is a lot more than most, I can say with confidence!

remember those people who posted that they had a complete list a couple days after it started? that is intimidation.

this now, this is about sharing creativity. the hunt is over, so there is nothing competitive about it

SOOoooo, to keep it rollin with the pics, here is my pic of a grandma&grandpa in kr. this was really hard to get, and i got shot down more than at ladies night before cornering this couple.

in the pic, the man is about to tell me to "hurry up and take the picture!" and the only time i saw the woman smile was on the camera

as they were taking the jackets off, i told them maybe some style rubbed off on them. they probably went home and showered . . .
