Please use this thread to discuss trading problems. This is a topic that can be emotional, so we have very strict rules for posts describing problems:

1. No flaming. Posts must calmly describe or discuss the facts of the problem transactions.
2. Posts are limited to personal experiences--no second-hand reports are allowed.
3. Absolutely no threats or calls for retaliation are allowed.
4. Absolutely no posting of personal information that could be used to harass another person.
5. These rules cover this thread and any other threads describing trading problems.

The moderators with actively moderate this thread and others describing problems. Inappropriate posts will be deleted immediately. Repeated violations of the rules will earn reprimands.

We will also maintain, in this first posting, a list of problem users with summaries of the problem and resolutions, if any.

We encourage people to try to resolve problems in private before discussing them here. Before posting a new problem report, please send a private message to one of the mods describing the problem and what you have done so far to try to address it.

dear earthling Sold prints and was sent figures for customizing over 6 months ago, but never received. People affected: djfohm, toyologist, drunkmunky02, Toemah, bubblegumking, delloy, plandesign39, wacko, nick210214, DOOBS01s GF, playdoh, DX_Psycho.
Update: Added more names. djfohm received items, but they are damaged.
Update: Prints claimed to be shipped, but not received. Customs exist, but not received.

lifeSIZEuglyDOL Same person as banned user qwertyuiop, who failed to send many paid-for items. Do not buy from this user! Not yet re-banned in the hope that he will deliver the items this time. Update: 2 people have received items owed to them, many more still waiting. Last logged in 12/26/2007. (11/5/2007, updated 4/28/2008)

tragicone... New account, claims to have been a board member before but had account deleted because of inactivity. Several items sold and paid for, but never received. People affected: Autodactyl, catch232, ELMAGIC09, ericericeric, Shifty, and possibly others. A few others did receive items after a long delay. PayPal claims have been filed and decided-for in favor of buyers, but no refunds. Last signed on 1/18/2008.
Update: ELMAGIC09 received Paypal refund.

I paid tragicone $108 for an El Brujo and never got it. he has also scammed several other board members.

I see tragicone... hasn't signed onto the board since Sept 18 and hasn't posted since August 20.

I see tragicone... hasn't signed onto the board since Sept 18 and hasn't posted since August 20.

The net is, for some reason, tragicone has sent the toys or refunded $ to some of us (me included, but after lots of emails, text messages, and a PayPal claim, which everyone who filed won, but he had no funds in his account to reimburse us) and others he has not sent / refunded anything.

Anyway, if you have the time, you can watch a lot of it play out in the thread linked above.

hate to do this, but I told him I would post on monday if I have not heard from him back.

I am waiting on a print from Dear Earthling. I purchased the print approximately 5 months ago. These were supposed to be in hand framed and ready to go out in the mail. I have been told thru phone conversations that there was printer errors and now cannot find frames.

I talked to him about a week ago on the phone. He said he would send out 2 prints since they were not framed and would make a dunny for me too. I told him if I did not get some kind of delivery confirmation by monday I would post this. I know there is one other person waiting on this print, and he has not been able to get ahold of him at all.

hopefully dear earthling will come and chime in as what is going on with this transaction. 5 months is a long time, so in my opinion you did nothing wrong by posting what is going on. i hope this can be resolved.

I too bought one of the Dear Earthling prints in April... I was tempted to let it go, since he was selling them as a benefit for Ava.

Unfortunately, I have since learned that he never gave Ally the money.

He was also supposed to do a custom Munny for me, that he SWORE he'd do as soon as he returned from Comic-Con.

I have called him 4 times and left messages, emailed him, pm'd him here, and sent him messages through Myspace.

Since he has signed in to both these boards as well as Myspace since I messaged him, it is apparent that he is actively ignoring the situation.

Thought I had all the prints dialed in as far as QC is concerned, but I wasn't happy with the slightly uneven boarder around the outside.

Good news is, I got it all taken care of last night and have the prints in hand ready to rock. The store I was getting the frames at is no longer carrying the,, so I'm tracking some down tomorrow. If the frame isn't of much concern to you, I can ship tomorrow, otherwise it might not be 'til Friday or Saturday. Just let me know and you'll be taken care of.

Now, I live in a town of 60 people, and he lives in Seattle: I can buy 8" X 10" frames here, so I find it odd that he can't. (not to mention I told him to go ahead and send it unframed).

At this point I no longer want the print -- just my $45 and the retail price of the Munny (and the scene cards, assuming you never painted those, either).

I bought Pink and Yellow Divers from Donros awhile ago and he seemed to have disappeared. Anyone know him in person or is close with him and know whats going on? I filed a paypal claim to cover my rump but I wanna hold out on escalating it so he can have a chance to reply. I've bought a couple of high priced items from him before and had no issues. If anyone can help me out, I would appreciate it.

It looks like the sale took place around Sept 24, which was two weeks ago...please keep us informed on developments, but I'm going to wait a little while longer before adding this to the summary.

so he called today shortly after I posted the thread, while I was at work.

He is supposedly going to get money tommorrow, and will ship stuff out. I told him toyologist is trying to get ahold of him too.

So I will wait until I get some kind of delivery status from him.

- Paid him $70 for an X-Ray Billy end of August. Said he was going to send it right out.
- Sent a PM Sept 11th (last day he was on the board) he never picked it up.
- Sent follow-up e-mail to the addy he has listed on the board, no reply.
- Opened a dispute with PayPal, and have since escalated to a claim. No response.

I've got no Billy, and the guy has basically dropped off the face of the earth. If anyone knows Dave let him know I'd like to get this resolved.

Nice that he's talking to you --- kinda makes it obvious that he's ducking me.... since he asked me to send him a check, and I did: I'll be heading down to the post office and filing Mail Fraud charges against him if I don't hear from him by the end of business today.

Update on Tragicone:

I've text messaged him a few times....Everything seems to work better with this member by text. He won't respond to emails, but he does respond (promptly too) to text messages. Seeing how he did refund some of the members that were initially scammed, I decided to follow what they did (texting and calling) and sure enough, I got through the guy. Currently, I'm waiting on him to ship the item today when he gets out of school. If (pray for me folks! [-o<

) or when I receive the items, I will post it here with a picture of the item and the condition. He's been very apologetic and pleasant over the phone/text.....Which honestly leaves me wonderingwhat the Heck went wrong?? #-o

i've got a problem with DEAR EARTHLING

i sent him a possessed figure to customize over 5 months ago. i've pm'd him several times, and all my PM's were never responded to. i only got a response when i posted something about it publically. he doesn't seem to be online very much these days. i'm hoping this isn't another dear earthing disappearance.

i've talked to him online a few weeks ago. he told me that the figure had already been primered and would be done at the end of the month (september). if i don't get my custom done soon, i want market value to replace the possessed figure i sent to him.

i'm just sick and tired of waiting and not getting what was promised to me in a timely fashion.

Same deal as Angie. Have an issue with DE. Pmed him today with no response, but it has been bad communication throughout.

Sent him a fatima months ago. Contacted him awhile ago checking on the progress. He told me it was stolen. He didn't contact me when it was stolen and people have told me that he customized and sold a fatima. Not sure if it was mine.

I just wanted the fatima back because it had been so long and I would rather have the money from selling the figure. He told me he couldn't do this because the replacement fatima he got was already stripped. Waiting for the custom or fair market price for a fatima.

Don't mean to pile on you J but this has been a really long wait and it sucks because I was a big fan. I supported you even when you disappeared the first time and didn't send the canvas I bought.

This probably won't help the 2 of you, but I called the Seattle Police Department today, and since he was selling the print I bought as a benefit for Ava: and he never gave the charity the money, he could be in real trouble. They suggested I give him a week to refund me the money. I called and left him another message.

Any one with a DE problem that wants to compare/share contact info, PM me....

update on DEAR EARTHLING.

no delivery confirmation or call today.

Here is what he has told me over the phone when I have been able to get ahold of him.
(PLEASE INSERT SUPPOSEDLY IN FRONT OF EACH)
1. the phone number is a house phone.
2. he is waiting on money from some art gallery or girl for something he did awhile ago (not our problem)
3. he has a hard time getting to a computer

I am just passing along information that I have received from him.

But this is FAR too long. I waited for about 5 months to get my MADL done from him, I ended up getting it but was missing the extra prints he was supposed to do for me.
Just passing along any info I get. I am in no regards in his behalf, just telling what he tells me.

last contact was about 5:00 monday afternoon.

DMize- Sent payment for 8" buff as well as some series 3 dunnies. No response from seller since payment sent. paypal claim went through no funds returned, suspected return scammer.

I hate to have to add to this thread, but I'm still waiting for an original painting from Dear Earthling. I don't know the exact date I sent him a check for this piece because my bank only keeps online records for 6 months, but since he cashed it before April 10th I feel justified in adding my name to the list of unhappy customers. He did send me a custom Qee last week, which incidentally I love more than most members of my family, but I still have not received any validation that my painting is en route. I had a similar experience with DE last year, and even though I was angry with him and had to fight like hell to receive what I was due, I (foolishly) gave him another chance this year because he's just so damn talented and nice. If he could find a way to get his communication skills and sense of responsibility on par with his artistic talents, I have no doubt that he could make a huge name for himself in this world. It makes me sad to have to make comments like this on a public forum, but I'm not sure what other options I have. I hope this situation gets resolved quickly for everybody involved.

I wish I knew what to do about this.

I feel like many people know the situation surrounding all of this, including several of you who have posted, so I'm a little surprised that none of this has been mentioned.

So I will do my best to recap here.

Every dollar I make gets recycled into the next project. This has worked incredibly well in the past, and has allowed me to continue to produce and in most cases, get things out in a timely manner. This has been my only source of income for a few months now, and it was a big decision to quit my job and really try to make this dream a reality. It has been a meager living, at best.

I had two back to back shows a couple of months ago, and all of the money I had went into making them the best I could possibly make them, knowing that most of the work would sell and the ton of things I had waiting to ship out could be easily managed. The first show went really smooth, and I was able to take care of most everything I had on my plate at that point. This is around the same time that I was getting the final prints done up and I thought the QC on them was pretty on point. I was wrong and the pieces no longer fit the frames I had spent good money on. My thoughts were to send two prints instead of the print and the frame, and most everyone seemed okay with this. Some weren't, and so I continued to search for frames that would fit. Needless to say, I was and am pretty upset with my printer. These are the first prints I've ever attempted, and I really wanted them to be the best they could possibly be. I'm out way more than I made on these now, and I'm not happy about this either.

At this point, I was completely broke. Nothing. I don't have a credit card or a secret savings account I can tap into in an emergency.

Someone on this board has purchased two paintings from the last show, and the gallery is waiting for him to make the final payment on one of the pieces. Until this happens, I don't get a dime. I've gone round and round with the gallery about this, explaining how this is all of the money I have PERIOD, and they're response is simply "sorry". It's a bit of a messed up policy, but I don't get dime one until all of the money is in. I know you are all waiting for your things, and my landlord is waiting for his rent still as well. I'm seriously not even able to eat most days, and I'm extremely thankful for the friends I have who have been feeding me.

Trust me, I'm extremely pissed about all of this, too. More than any of you are. I am not benefitting in any way by not getting you your goods.

This may seem neither here nor there, but while this was all happening, there have been two deaths in my family and I somehow survived an incredible car wreck, losing my camera I use to shoot my work in the process. My accounts were also hacked into while my internet access was down due to my computer frying. Dealing with all of this has been hell, and made it very hard to get anything done. The entire process has come to a screeching halt.

For those that I promised would be getting their things shipped by a certain day, this is when I was told I would finally be getting paid. But every day I call, and still nothing. Evidently the person we're all waiting on has just returned from a vacation. My only guess is that they spent way too much money, and now can't afford to finish paying for the piece.

I really don't know what I can do right now. All I want to do is get these things out and maybe eat something other than ramen. I'm physically unhealthy over all of this, including stressed to nearly breaking point and having to deal with two funerals. I've never ripped anyone off, and I'm sorry this is happening and has taken so long.

I haven't been able to pay my internet bill, so it's also been incredibly hard to get online. I'll be doing my best to try and check back here soon.
