Hi there! The holes on the back of a kickcase are 1/8'' so as long as the knobs fit, you should be good.

So I've started down the (wallet draining) path of collecting Kidrobot figures and have been looking around for suitable cases when I came across these ones. I have to say of all the custom cases I've seen these things look wonderful and priced reasonably to boot.

Only problem for me is I'm in Canada where everything is taxed hard and then some... I went to the Toykick website and priced out a shipping estimate to around ~$27 which isn't bad at all BUT it's UPS standard shipping and I'm a little worried about breakage.

Have you had any issues in the past shipping to Canada through standard?

Also as an aside I don't suppose you have any idea what the duty cost will be on the item? It's usually the regular sales tax + goods and services tax + handling fee but it varies wildly from product to product / shipper to shipper.

Sorry for all the questions. I know should just bite the bullet (and eat cheap lunches for the next few weeks) and get the case but trying (not very successfully) to be somewhat frugal :doubt:

Hey there, thanks for the questions and kind words.

1. I haven't had any breakage problems when shipping to Canada via UPS. Sometimes cases do crack in shipping but it is not that common. When this happens, I give the customer 3 days from the date of receiving it to report the breakage with pictures and I replace the item. I've gotten people that try to tell me a display case arrived broke and they tell me weeks, sometimes even months after receiving them. I can't honor these requests anymore but if it's within 3 days and you send pictures, all is good.

2. When shipping, I can declare the value to be anything you want.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for the quick reply!

One last question, would I need to contact you directly about the shipping value or is there a field on your website checkout form that I can indicate that?

Sorry to butt in, but I think what he meant was brokerage fee. From my few experiences with UPS, I've always got hit with brokerage fees. The brokerage fee from them is usually half the cost of the item itself. So that on top of duties (usually just taxes) adds up a lot. That's why I always request to get shipped through USPS as most other companies (Fed EX, UPS) will charge brokerage fees.

EDIT: Nevermind. I re-read his post and it seems like he meant exactly what you answered to. I'll leave my original post there in case it helps any fellow Canadians...

Ah, I see.

I can ship any method that anyone likes. If USPS to Canada is better for you because of brokerage fees then that is fine, happy to do it :)

Actually I was wondering about brokerage fees. And breakage too, just realized the two words look alike haha.

But with being able to alter the value declared, brokerage shouldn't be an issue right?

Anyways, going to sort my figures and see what my needs will be.

Thank you again for the responses, they've been very helpful.

Went to checkout, but no area to enter in a coupon code anywhere. I'm afraid if I click Complete My Purchase it will finalize everything. Cyber Monday deals?

Hey there!

Thanks for the post.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have any active discount codes. I apologize for that. Costs have gone up greatly and I had to remove them. I hope you understand.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me through the contact page at ToyKick.com

Dang, I just can't get myself to spend $90 for a piece of plastic. No offense to ToyKick or the workmanship, but the price is ridiculous and I understand this is due to the outrageous prices for Acrylic sheet.

Acrylic plastic is not quite the same as cheap polypropylene that you're probably thinking of. Acrylic is much higher quality plastic and the cost of this material fluctuates.

Additionally, each display case is hand made by humans - as opposed to being cast in a mold like polypropylene plastic knives and forks for example. So comparing one kind of plastic to another is not really fair as it is similiar to comparing regular old newsprint paper to fancy card stock you might print a wedding inviitation on - both are paper, but very different.
