To be fair it's not "my product," it's just something I built for myself and sharing it with the community here. I don't sell or build it for anyone. I posted it because people are looking for an option and obviously you're willing to produce it. I have dimensions and cost breakdown which I will gladly share with you and any other board member for reference. PM coming.

Damn, this is totally not what I intended my line of questioning to lead to. I'm new here, but based on the rest of this thread, I think it goes without saying that people know DrewJ has something to offer in his Kickcases that collectors can't find anywhere else. I also know Genojo was just trying to offer a DIY solution, to people who are using Detolf's, to display parts of their collection. Let cooler heads prevail, and maybe you guys can exchange some info that will lead to something new on the ToyKick site.

I'll try and get my Kickcase order in this weekend, and I'll probably get some basic risers for some of my larger pieces too. As for step risers for my Detolf, I'm going to look into some other options before I drop any money.

We need to talk asap about getting you selling these via ShelfLife.net.

Specifically I can see a 3 3/4 case doing very, very well there.

Hey Guys.

Just a heads up. I have 3 of my original designs left. Once the three are gone I will be taking backorders. There will be a 2-3 week wait for backorders.

Plenty of Splitters available.

Got my two kick cases today from a trade with Drew.

Really dig them but one is like...1/8 inch too tall to slip into my Ikea Expedit bookcase...I thought they'd be tight but one seems to be a smudge taller than the other.

The shorter one JUST fits...like meant for that space lol

Also, how should I go about solidifying the shelf a little...I was trying to put 5 droids on each shelf and it seemed to sag a touch...mostly the bottom shelf which wouldn't allow me to fit any below it

Hey Hova, glad you dig the cases. Are you sure one is taller than the other? That shouldn't be the case, they should be exactly the same height. Can you check to make sure my the Ikea shelf isn't off? I know things can be off a little when you construct them yourself.

I'm surprised they are that tight. I know a few pages back someone has them in the Expedit shelves and there is plenty of room. Do you have a different kind?

It's a tight fit with the Androids. The bottom shelf is a slightly bit shorter than the other and does have a little bit of an issue with holding the androids. Though, they still should be able to.

let me know about the size difference. Maybe I cando something to fix that for you.

Yea I threw them onto a flat surface side by sode and its JUST taller...like 1/8" or even less...

I mean the taller one fits...but I have to jam it in hard....and I'm sure if I push too far it'll crack haha

Also, since I can't drill into the walls here, has anyone hung these with those 3M command strips?

I'm thinking they'd work out fine...

I am thinking of getting either 3 Kickcases or 4 Splitters (depending of my space and number of dunnys I want to display). Which ever I get, I would like to stack the three or four on top of each other when connected to the wall, but will this cause any issues with trying to open the bottom cases with these others above it? Anyone else have a setup like this?
Thanks,
Allan

Hi Allan, thanks for asking this question, I get it a lot. Normally, yes, the doors will be blocked by the cases above. However, a great solution to this is as follows:

1. Get your hands on some small plastic washers like these (You can find them in Lowes or home depot they cost about 12 cents each) :

Image

2. When you screw the cases into the wall stick these washers on the screw between the display case and the wall for only the top two screws.

3. This will give the display case a very slight forward shift on the top portion of the display case. It is slight enough to not even notice visually and your items will not slide off. However, it will provide enough space for the door to clear the display case above.

Note: Depending on how close you want the two shelves, you might need to add one or two extra washers. I would grab some extras.

Pretty soon I'll be offering these washers on Toykick for exactly this purpose. :)

Here's a similar question for you Drew. I plan to hang 2 Kickcases vertically, what if the bottom case were hung upside down, would the slider hold from falling out?

Hi there. There is no latch so the door would not hold on its own but you could probably add a little something to hold the door if you wanted.

Great case! Frustrated with the Shot glass case as it has damaged, or scuffed my larger characters.. Peter cart an ect

So my question is how many 3 inch figures fit in a case ( all my figures are from SF Simpsons FG or Futurama)

I know ur case will be the solution but wanna know what I should get re big case or. Splitter or a mix and match thereof

Hey there! Thanks for the post. The original design will hold about 24 Dunnys. Since Dunnys are pretty much the same size (with a few exceptions) as Simpsons and other licensed figures I would say you should also expect 24 to fit. (Give or take one or two).

The Splitter is a good option for series with taller figures like, for example, South Park. Satan, with his legs, will not fit in the original design but will fit in a Splitter.

If you look at the pictures, we have a picture of the entire South park set, plus some Simpsons, in both designs.

Let me know if that answers your question :)

Hey Drew. I have a detolf with some 8" dunnies. I was wondering which size acrylic square risers would you recommend for them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey there! I get a lot of questions about what will fit inside a Detolf and to be honest I don't have one to make any official measurements. However, I am still happy to help you out. Could you measure the inside dimensions from the floor to ceiling of one of the levels of the detolf? I can help you find what would work best for an 8'' Dunny.

Looking good man! Are you using washers behind them so you're able to stack them on top of each other?

I ended up using those silicon sliders for furniture since I had some on had, but used them in the same way, just drilled holes in them for the screws. They look great, I will post with an updated pic of all four cases hanging. Again, love them, they are awesome for my vinyl collection.
