sorry, but if banksy followed the rules, no one would know who banksy is.

btw, finally saw Exit, and it really made me respect him again. it totally played all the chumps who ride the rod of these famous street artists in a hyper-intelligent way. so smart, most people don't even realize they got played.

After the recent Tesco riots in Bristol Banksy has produced this fine commemorative souvenir poster. It's available exclusively from Bristol's Anarchist Bookfair this coming Saturday. All proceeds go to the Peoples Republic of Stokes Croft and associates.

Really funny to intimate that a person underwent severe physical trauma in their childhood over a differing opinion, guys. Banksy probably does have something to worry about, actually - little b1tch gets slapped and does nothing about it.

No matter how many writers tell you that banksy is regarded as toy scum by writers, you hold onto opinions fed to you in a movie theater. I hope some little d-bag who isn't famous tags up all of your houses so you can have a nice, private dinner of your own words.

You are assuming people actually care what "writers" think about Banksy.

Um, I'm a writer and I don't think he's scum. He pushes boundaries further and more often than most street artists, and if you can't recognize that, it's your loss. The mere fact that he's got you so uptight and upset means that he is successful. His actions are to try and get that exact response.

And if your reaction to him is because he went over some other piece, then you clearly don't understand the graffiti culture. Going over someone's work has been at the forefront of graffiti for just about ever. Yes, it's disrespectful, that's the whole f-ing point. And if you have to hate on him for going over a piece, then you have to hate nearly every other writer in history. Anything else is hypocracy. Maybe there is some jealousy because he is way more clever than most street artists?

his actions are to make $$$.

so you're saying stencils go over burners?

There's no jealousy here, believe me. I have all of his books (still), most of the major publication articles - i was definitely a hardcore fan and believed in his message. All of this chump toy crap goes against everything i've ever seen, been taught, or believed in. Seeing him pull riddlped moves on street art fans with his whole hype engine and fake alternate personalities is garbage. the "they get what they pay for" mentality is not any way to keep it real.

stencils, buckets of paint, a single line, wheatpaste, stickers, primer...

I'm hoping you've seen Style Wars. If not, check it out and pay attention to CAP's section. Going over other artists is all that some writers do. That way, they get more recognition for a half-a$$ed throw up as someone who takes a week to burn up a wall. Graffiti is not all about pretty colors and can control. It's war.

Anyways, if you bought all of his books, aren't you just playing into his hype? You're the one supporting him financially, not me, and not most writers.

Yeah, and CAP is regarded as a toy by most people with half a brain. I think he's a perfect example of the lamest aspect of graf - the chumps who can't. They get recognition - as losers. People still talk about how that guy is lame trash with no respect for the game. Yeah, great, he'll be remembered for all of time - as a talentless, hack d0uche.

And i never said i bought his books. I said i have them.

Banksy was a writer for years but opted for stencils because they were faster. If you've read the books of his that you have, then you would know that.

What I don't understand is that you are assuming that everyone formed their opinion of Banksy based on Exit...on top of that you are TELLING us that that we should be forming our opinions based on what writers are saying.

Don't believe everything you see and don't believe what you are told.....but you SHOULD believe what you are told if what you're being told, is being told to you by by "writers".

Which one is it? You can't have it both ways. And a writer has just come in and basically proved your argument wrong again. Beyond Team Robbo, who is it? Are they just lurking on this message board or are they all over on some Montana Gold forum talking about nozzle sizes? Either way that's not really the conversation we're having here. You're more than welcome to start a Graf Writer or Team Robbo thread, but don't claim to be speaking for a larger community when you really aren't.

It's cool that you have your opinion on Banksy and everyone else has theirs, but telling people what to believe based on YOUR beliefs is just absurd. You claim to be speaking for a larger community but it sounds to me like it's just a group of writers who couldn't make a name for themselves for whatever reason and holding a grudge against Banksy is the ONLY way to get publicity...which is ALL Robbo has. That's the saddest part of it all - Robbo hates what Banksy has become but he sure was quick to sign on to do that gallery show at Signal. If you haven't seen the exhibit by now here's a quick peek at the stunning pieces that Robbo had available for purchase. Yep, now that he has publicity thanks to his self-serving Banksy feud, he's selling screen prints for £80 a pop.

You're a funny person, what'd you ask someone else how to insult a writer? No, I don't use montana gold - because they're thieves. Don't know writers who hang out on graf forums either, but i chat and chill every week with recognized kings from my state / states around me. I'm pretty comfortable in the fact that most writers, at least the ones i know, agree with what i'm saying.

And one writer's opinion is now valid over how many others? Funny that one person's opinion can be the proof you need to tell me I'm wrong, but when several people have a differing opinion, it's invalid or they got dropped on their head... You need to review your own feedback.

Just stop bashing Banksy with your baseless claims that every single writer thinks he's a punk.

Start your own thread about graf writers and go nuts with what they think, like, don't like, etc. Plenty of room on the board for another thread.

By the looks of the "art" above, it seems Robbo has done a Mr Brainwash.
He's having a laugh at the "RIP Banksy's career". Yeah Banksy is really struggling. What a c0ck!!

Well said Sky. It makes me laugh at the anger directed towards Banksy. It's like the whole honour amonst thieves rubbish. The point being, there is no honour amongst thieves. They steal from who they want.

There's plenty of honor amongst thieves. You even know what the Thieve's Code is? Because it doesn't apply to anyone who isn't a Thief, so I could see where you might have gotten mixed up. And just because you steal doesn't make you a Thief.

People who claim to uphold the Thieve's Code and don't get killed. Their family gets killed. Their name goes down in history as disgraced, fake, and pu$$y. Believe whatever you want, but claim to uphold that code and don't - well, hope you never end up in the zone. That's where fakes get what's coming to them.

You can even get killed for having a tattoo that signifies your connection to the Thieve's Code if it's not warranted.

So...not really the same deal.

So...not really the same deal.

what? please tell me you can tell the difference between literal and figurative. This discussion is about graffiti, not murdering people over some "zone" or "code."
