I think I may have an accidental, incomplete email forwarded to me. Sent a message to Levine and he said it's going out momentarily. Guess I jumped the gun here. Thought it had gone out.

I emailed Jonathan and he says that he hates you and he's moving you to the bottom of the Soto list!!!

I've always thought that Soto has the potential to reach Ryden prices. His stuff just keeps getting better.

Here's to hoping I can afford what I want!

Wow... very expensive.

How do people feel about the ubiquitous black clouds? I like this show, but not nearly as much as last years or the blk/mrkt show.

i don't like the 2D look of those clouds... i hope u know what i mean. but yah, those clouds are not my fav. it is expensive u are right. if i get something, i'll have to sell some of my treasured possessions. it is an amazing show though....

Love all the big ones and "Water" is just amazing. Love the bright blue colors.

It's just out of my league for now.

which piece do you want?
I like this show, but the stuff isnt as diverse as supernova was. Clouds are nice and interesting, but I'd rather see them with the old guys (robots, flowers, ...). A bit too much as main characters.

hey there,
i feel what you saying , but this is my first chance to get a Soto so i'm fine with it, plus actually the piece i want got me from the first glimpse, WATER.

i'm collecting commission and pieces snow-themed, and that one would look awsome innit!!!

Do they not send you the preview until they get to you? I don't know, maybe they never added me to the list. I get so annoyed with gallery waiting lists!

they send the preview to all the list members at once, then people are contacted by list order to say what piece they want. so if you were added to the list you'd have the preview by now.

That's what I thought. Figures they haven't added me. I've had the worst luck with waiting lists. I'm sure I can't afford anything right now, but I'd at least like to see the preview with the pricing.

I'm annoyed. How many emails do you have to send to be added to a waiting list anyway? :doubt:

Yeah, they forgot to add me too. I'm not too upset as I probably wasn't going to buy anything anyway, but it is somewhat annoying.

there are 30 pieces available and 180 people on the waiting list, so I guess at some point they did not add people anymore. As for the prices, I keep them handy!

Oh I'm sure there's not enough work for the whole list, but I don't think that's a good reason not to add folks. I understand it's a waiting list and they may not ever get to my name, but to exclude people kinda sours the experience for future dealings with the gallery.

sure, you're right, I wasnt trying to justify anything, but im pretty sure at some point it gets crazy regarding those lists.

I always make a list of prices for artists I collect the second the previews go out, as reference for future sales, etc. So I could PM you prices once the show is public, enabling you to get a feel for the price level this show was set at.

And regarding not recieving the preview..While I do agree that you should've recieved it if you requested to be thrown on the list, with an artist like Soto, unless you're extremely adamant and proactive, in terms of making sure you recieve acknowledgement and a response to your email request for the list, I can only assume some people will slip through the cracks. Definitely don't take it personally. Additionally, if you contacted Jonathan only 2-3 months ago (or so), there's absolutely no way you'd get a chance at anything, unless you're willing to drop $10k+. People have been on this list for multiple years now.

any word on how fast the pieces are moving... do u think the more expensive piece will last to the end?

Oh I don't take it personally. It's just frustrating because every time I've been requested to be on a waiting list I haven't been added. Hmmm...maybe I should take it personally! 8-[
