I just picked this up - I'm a big fan of Murakami and KAWs this one seems to combine both aspects in one (to me at least). It's a pretty big piece at a little over 28x28 for the print.

do you plan on displaying all six of the the foldings? That would look awesome.

Sky- Unfortunately the printers for this Edition don't recommend me leaving it out too long as its all paper so it will sag in time. Its meant to show and put back into the sleeve. Im surprise you know about Tauba, didn't expect much people to know about her. haha

Thanks, I have a DOB on the wall too and one day would have a 727. Sold my POKE a few months ago.

Funny your two favorite artist is represented by Emmanuel Perrotin now. I believe it was Murakami that help pushed Perrotin to pick Kaws up for his gallery, taking him to a whole new level.

I just saw Kaws will be showing at the Perrotin in HK. Bad timing - I was in HK last month. Do you think they'll sell any prints at that show?

Dout it only thing public is aware of is the 1000% Be@rbrick releasing for the Original Fake Anniversary. Should be releasing next week, as far as my knowledge there is no release on Kawsone.com. I can be wrong though. There is also a piece he did for BAM on auction at Phillip De Pury next week. highest bidder on the silent auction is $12,000 so if anyone out bids that when the auction goes live they get it with the 25% on top for Phillip.

Thanks Willy - I just took a look at that BAM auction - not really my favorite but nice nonetheless. I would love a KAWS print in the future - just need to find the right piece and at the right price :) .

Good luck any KAWS work on is $$$$$, a whole lot of flippers out there. They lowball seller and flip right after. Kind of sad if you ask me but can't hate on the hustle. They rather make a dime now then make a buck in a few years.

KAWS on paper or print or canvas has a high value now. There is always a whitecolumns.org auction coming up soon with one of his work. Starting bid 5k might end around 12k I believe which is high. I wouldn't bid more then 8500.

Good luck in your search

Not my last purchase, but probably my biggest score. Screen print, hand pulled by Shepard Fairey back in '94. It was not intended to be sold, but was used on the streets of Providence, R.I., Boston and Portland as a response to a Coca Cola ad campaign. There are 5 known in existence. Two have sold for $1800+ and I paid all of $99 for mine. Seller had no clue what they had!

^^^ Exaaaactly! I stumbled across it on the bay one day, and knew it looked familiar but didn't know much about it. I had to get more info from fellow board members on TheGiant.org, real quick like. Bought it and prayed it was legit. A couple other members scored one too. After everyone got theirs and after some heated discussion, it was decided that they were legit and I was like    :partyman: Once in a lifetime type ish for sure!

I'd sell that ASAP and buy something frame-worthy. If you have a buyer whose willing to drop coin based on it's rarity I'd cash in cash in while I could. Rarity aside, it's not a very interesting print/advertisement.

^^Well, I'll agree it's ugly as sh*t, but if you research OK Soda, you'll see why it looks the way it does. I am a Shepard Fairey fan, so I can look past it's ugliness. Yes there are several older prints, of comparable value, that I would love to have, but each of those come from runs of 100 or so. Though this one was originally printed in a large run, there are so few around today, I'd rather chase a print from a run of 100 or so, than a print of which only 5 are known to exist! Remember I only paid $100, so unless it takes a terrible drop in value, it will always be worth more than I paid. I appreciate your opinion though! ;)

Will do! I wish I wasn't such a collector sometimes, the extra cash would be sweet, but I would probably regret it for the rest of my life.

Oh man, that Shepard piece brings me back. OK Soda was such a great advertising campaign. The soda was horrible, but the can design and ads were iconic. I can't remember a time since when a corporation did such a good job of appealing to a group of young people.

^^ Wow, so you lived in one of the test markets? I had never heard of it, until I started collecting Shepard's art and learned more about this print.

Yeah, Minneapolis was one of the test markets. The ad campaigns were a big hit, but nobody bought the soda.
