First original Ledbetter! Working on a frame for it.

Random question, I'm fairly new to the whole "Nicely Framed" artwork world. With that said, when something is professionally framed, the tape on the back of the print... will it discolor it? I know its acid free I'm just curious as to long term, how prints will hold up (When I say prints, I mean archival paper/numbered prints.)?

^^ Those tapes are all bad news in my book. Any print mounted with them is not really archival. Some framers will tell you otherwise, but I'd suggest not giving them your business. I'm not sure they'll discolor the print and doubt they would, but they will damage the paper upon removal. I've had framers tell me the opposite, and I chuckle when I have them demonstrate on scrap paper only to destroy said paper. Not to mention the tape was only on for a minute in those cases. Who knows what'd happen after years.

How are prints held in place if you don't use tape?

Corners are the best option, and the only true archival method. There's also hinges, which will still leave residue behind or take some paper with them, but far less than tape.

Corners are the best option however there are techniques that you can use to hinge something that is archival. Having said that, if your framer is using tape I probably wouldn't trust him/her to hinge anything of value.

Nice Lifted btw, one of Josh's best.

Just copped an OG work from Dabs and Myla. It will be on display during the Miami art fair dec 3-8 and shipped after the new year. I'll throw some photos up of the piece when I get it, can't wait!

I tried to grab this piece today by Faith47 at the drop but missed out on the milliseconds it took to sell out. I was pretty bummed and then someone with buyers remorse reached out to me. So I'm pretty stoked to be getting this piece.

Like mentioned, good framers either do the corners or hinge technique. It really depends on the print. As you probably have seen, alot of prints are printed almost right up to the edge of the paper, maybe leaving 1/4"-1/3" of a border. So there isn't room to have it sit in corner pockets. Only really :gettingdeep: framers would actually tape the back of the artwork. It's just as bad as dry mounting
