Supra Shoes x Eboy Blindboxed - Need your help/feedback :D

Hi there,

I'm doing a project on essentially footwear packaging. I've combined the idea of a blindbox with limited edition shoes. The shoes all hold illustrations by pixels artists Eboy and have been applied to the Supra Society range.
As the shoes are blindboxed you would not know what shoe design you are purchasing, but the shop would hold some of the designs so you could try on for size ect before committing to a purchase - but like all blindboxes there is always a chance of receiving a very rare item.

Ill show you the examples and hopefully you wouldn't mind answering a few of my questions below.

If you were to see any of these packaging examples, would you consider buying the product? (price is not relevant right now) Example 1,2 or 3.. and why?

Is it the product or its packaging that you find appealing? (or not)

Would you keep the packaging if the product was purchased? What would you use it for? Storing the shoes when not in use, keeping it in case you want to resell later etc.

What do you think of Supra shoe packaging as it stands right now? (see below, so hard to find a good picture! Sorry)

When comparing this with something like Coarses packaging, in my opinion one doesn't compare, although I am aware Coarse costs about 3 times more than a pair of Supras.

However, the shoes in question will be limited edition, around 1800 pieces altogether. So the packaging should be something special. The packaging opens like the Coarse example as shown above; they all open from the middle so the sides slide out and to ensure no tampering has been made a sticker will seal these sides together.

I just want your opinions; what works what doesn't, whether having a nicely designed box will add to your overall experience of unpackaging, if you would keep the packaging and put it on display etc... Example 1,2 or 3 and why?

I don't know if blind boxed shoes might be too much for people--and you would have to have a fan base to make the desire factor for the limited more rare or valuable.

But interesting idea. Dig the packaging.

I love me some eboy, and I think the second box is the winner. It feels like the most faithful translation of their work. Would I buy blind-boxed kicks based on my appreciation for their (or any artist's) work? Probably not. But for certain hardcore sneakerheads or fans with more disposeable income, it may work.

A non-bb design based on the Blockbob Eater character would be very tempting for me though.

This is definitely for the core sneaker heads and resellers out there. The idea has been tossed around in other circles, and not just with shoes, and price is always something you have to take into consideration. I mean, that's a given. But even more so when you're talking about high end shoes. There are a few designs and colorways I dig from the ones posted, but then there are also a couple I would hate to get, mainly because certain colors don't go with me. So again, definitely something more geared towards resellers (and of course the sneaker heads who will more than likely be forced to buy them for way above retail).

I don't rock red ever or loud rump colors , so I wouldn't never buy cause you know the luck ill have and ill get red or pink and im not cool enough to rock that maybe super cool guys from la will.. and the 2nd box looks cool

i really really like the grey/aqua and grey/red but does it have to be the TK society? those shoes are way too high to wear! it's like wearing womens ugg boots with straps

OH and i like the 3rd box. It looks much more clean and high class while still shoe casing Eboys style

you have a good point. The TK society is a 120-160.00 shoe. THat's a lot to gamble with. If you do this, you would also have to make a lower end shoe like the TK stacks, aault or even Cutler low...something in the 50.00 range. THen again, because of ebay, i guess pulling a bad deisgn wont be such a HUGE problem because you could just resell them.

I wish! I'd totally buy these too if they were real, maybe a different series though

2nd box gets my vote.

Love the idea of blind box sneaks, it might be easier to get people to purchase if the color ways are very similar but with major detail differences.

You could do a blue series and do different variations, shades of blue, laces and soles. That way they're similar but each has a unique feel/look to them without being too over the top different.
