When I moved back over here, I brought my 10 year old cat with me. A few years later, he developed some really odd symptoms. I took him to the vet who couldn't figure it out and also to different specialists.
He lost all of his hair and I ended up having to leave him at the vet because he was so weak. I went to see him every day after class where I'd sit with him. He was always wrapped in a towel because his skin was in bad shape but the vet never wanted to give up. Sometimes I wish he had let me end his suffering... Anyway, one day, I didn't go. I went the day after and he was gone.
It was absolutely heartbreaking. This cat had been with me through a tough time with school and my parents' divorce. He was my world.
The vet let me have a few weeks to get myself together before starting to pay the bills. When I went back, he told me that he knew I was still upset but a stray feral cat they had in back had given birth to kittens the day Peewee passed. He said there was only one boy and would I like to see him. I initially said no but my curiosity got the best of me.
I broke down. He was the spitting image of Peewee.
Needless to say, he was adopted after an hour of, "I'm can't do this."
So heaven? Not sure. But pretty sure there was some divine intervention at play.
Peewee 2 (I love this pic of his "insane" look haha:
