Hey guys, I've never made a munny before so this is my very first one. I don't intend on selling him right away, I was just curious how much he would be worth (and munny gallery rules said no shop talk so I came here). I may sell him in the future if he's worth at least what I put into making him lol.

He is worth for whatever you feel is the right price.
The amount people would be willing to pay for is entirely different story.
So just post it for whatever $ you want for it, if it sells, that's great. If it doesn't, then just lower the price. That's what I do with my custom pieces.

Nice custom, by the way.
I like the fabric accessory.
Kinda remind me of some of Huck Gee's customs.

very huck gee. But thats easy to accomplish. Asking for a price on your own piece? i dont know. Its a nice custom. Id like to see more stuff to see your style.
What did you put into it? In the end its what people wanna pay

Lol that's awesome, I looked up Huck Gee and love his stuff, it'll give me inspiration for my next ones. This one is actually a Kobold from my Dungeons & Dragons campaign lol, I planned on doing lots of fantasy/d&d oriented characters. And I don't know what Chuckboy is, I'm guessing it's another artist?

Value is tough, because the art market is not exempt from a 'get more for less' deals and savings consumer mentality. People want to feel like they got a good deal, where the value of the piece is more than they paid.
If you put it up on a seller's community, like Etsy, the sheer volume of competing custom toys would drive the realistic selling price into the ground. Tons of the customs there are in the 20-40$ range. Sellers churn out quick and dirty customs, undervalue them to entice buyers, and it sets a difficult precedent to compete with.

I think it's a 60$ custom that people would really only want to pay 35$ for. But I see value in time spent, and observe my valuations are higher than other people's.

I like this piece, it's got a really nice composition. Instead of selling it for cheap, add more(details/cool features) to justify a higher price. I think you did a great job with the fabrics & weapon in particular. If it's quality and has appeal, someone will eventually pay for it. Give them something they can't get from anyone else. Don't sell it for dirt just to get a fast sale, then people will always expect a cheap price for your customs.

If you find it hard to sell your larger customs, make smaller toys. They are more affordable & they take less time to customise. It's a balancing act.

I wouldn't let go of this guy for less anything than $100.

Keep it up!

Hi,
I may not be the most experienced boardie out there but from what i know i would say that he is worth around $40 as lowest price but i'm not sure that anybody would be interested in buying it over the $75 area so somwhere in between i guess
Thanks,
Smithy24

Hard to put a price on other people's work. Heck, unless I missed the info somewhere I don't even know if this is 4" or 7", which is obviously a huge factor. Don't sell yourself short. Set the price you think it's worth and if nobody buys then you know your price was too high. The heavy Huck influence is actually a big minus to my thinking with regard to price. If someone wants a Huck custom, they want a Huck custom. Find your personal style and people will come looking for your stuff.

I agree with the posts of a $40-$100 dollar range, largely because the style is so similar to Huck Gee. Usually folks will pay more for something more distinctly "you" but for the record I really like the design and think it is a great piece.

I first loved an idea I had - then looked again at the piece and changed my mind...then changed it back...so I will throw it out there anyways:

I liked the previous poster's idea of making more accessories.

A piece of me would love this guy pulling like a wooden carriage with some barrels in it or something...if I could sketch whats on my mind I would...but I can only draw snails (literally). Sorry.

But yeah..if you consider making accesories for him...I kind of vision a one of those old wooden type carriages/wheelbarrows that he would drag behind him...with wooden wheels

re price = I am still a noob = i have no clue.
I do love the piece though and think you should definitely make more! keep it up!
