Making a custom Dunny for a friend's birthday.Advice please!

This will be my first custom and I would really appreciate some advice on painting techniques and sculpting. I don't want to post full details about it here on the off chance they're on this forum but if you have the time and inclination to help please PM me and we can talk here or on Discord.

I'm sorry for not providing more details upfront but I don't want any chance of spoiling the surprise for them.

Hi,

There was a series of step-by-step customizing tutorials in Clutter Magazine a few years ago. You might want to start there. Otherwise, here are my very brief notes:

1. Sand the thing like crazy before painting it!
2. Only use acrylic paints. You get what you pay for, so don't use cheapo paint.
3. After the base coat, draw on the details lightly with a pencil and use those lines as guides when painting.
4. Seal it with aerosol sealant.
Great deals with: Trademark78, wyldaxe, yanksb11, lediscode, Nisares, Slideglide, broke4toys, OK_DOMO, kudospop, MotherGoose, Reg_M, LuckyKid19, Jfactor
