I was so honored to have my pieces squeezed in between Bob Conge & Brent Nolasco!
If only I could buy them all...

When I first got that smogun in I didn't even realize it was a devastator transformers tribute. I love the color of the green.

Yeah, that's pretty sweet, alright. Whatever happened to loudwizard? He used to have an enormous collection of smoggies, many handpaints...they should be somewhere in this thread.

Post by poysntixels » Tue Jul 14, 2009 3:34 am

^^^that was a great release; July 4, right?

Meanwhile, last 2 YJA packages had these (rest of delivery was paint fodder):

Yeah, let's bring this thread back to life! Those ones from YJA are awesome.

Yup, the Ooze Bat was a July 4 release. That makes three of them for me, still got a few to track down.

Finally got around to picking up one of these guys, too (it's not new, but it's new to me):

ooh, balbagon w/no eyes, right? I agonized over that when it came out... spendy but really one of the greatest and most underrated that whole year. Isn't that dream rocket on the brand? I used to have a much better memory. I blame the micro brews.

You're right on all counts, man; Dream Rocket Balbagon w/no eyes. When I saw this one up for sale, the price was right and I decided it was time to pull the trigger.

The simplicity of the concept offest by the detail in the sculpt is what does it for me. He's just a straightforward, bad-to-the-bone dinosaur-type monster. Everything about this guy is mean, right down to his nasty teeth. I love it.

WTF 2009 S7 Killer by Bwana Spoons

I went up to San Francisco for the Super7 stop on Bwana's WTF tour. I got to meet a bunch of cool people and I lost a pencil fight with Bwana. I also scored Bwana's new art book which, if you're into his stuff, I highly recommend.

Thanks, man.

Yeah, this is definitely one of my favorite Bops. The eyes really bring the piece together and I dig the way the rub works on his teeth. Nice and rough...makes them look jagged and mean.

I'm glad you got one of these, Jay. Isn't it funny that we argue about politics and hold fundamentally different perspectives on so many issues yet we have similar taste in toys? I mean, how many of these do you think even made to the USA, you know? I think that's pretty awesome.

Addictive, wait till you get it, JP vinyl is the crap, the feel, the paint, it even smells better, and God forbid you pick up a piece of clear JP vinyl, it's over.

but be warned some of these pieces are real limited, and I don't mean KR limited, were everyone on here is crying because there are "only" 500 made. I'm talking like 50 or less on some runs of pieces...

Like this Blobpus, I think it was a run of 10...
