Monsterism Island compilation album...

Post by spookypaw » Sat Jun 23, 2007 9:23 pm

I have the CD, but was wondering if this was ever available on Vinyl? I paid out the buns for the CD, but would love to find it on record...every track a winner--from Dead Meadow to United States of America!

Vinyl

I don't think it was on vinyl, but someone who knows more could post, but wasn't there a special pack with a figure? I got mine at a good price through the Amazonian jungle, as I had credits from having links on my (now down) Super Furry Animals website. I'd recommend mail ordering direct from the UK (lots of indie shops online). They often take out the VAT (very high tax) which offsets the shipping, and makes UK CDs much cheaper than if you buy them in the States.

I don't recall it ever coming out on vinyl - at first it came with the festival Ranger figure, which I think you can now still buy separately in the playbeast store. It's a great CD though - looking forward to Vol 2.

alas there was no vinyl so you're gong to have to track down the music individually. Not so easy as getting a vinyl version but just think, the thrill of the hunt for that last track you need to complete! Most of the tracks are not too tough to find for a good price though the Manfred Mann tune is a tricky one, often listed £30-£50, got mine for £25 (gods were looking down on me that day! Great second hand store!

Trying to figure out volume 2 at the moment, looking for a good label to get it out on..
Vinyl versions are hard to release as it is often an extra clause in the contract for liscencing to vinyl:(

DJ Cherrystones and meself will be relaunching the podcasts soon on a new site, hopefully next week so keep an eye out on my myspace page for that.

all the beast and keep your ears to the sentient ground

one way glass

Post by pete fowler » Wed Jul 04, 2007 6:23 am

there's one other track thats good but not as banging as One Way Glass, pretty good LP in all but bit pricey for one track. Do some hunting and you might get a cheapo on it.
Most sellers know it's a rare ish LP so maybe look in junk shops etc

good luck!

Site

I know you asked Pete, but you might try GEMM. I've listed stuff there several years ago. There's shops plus people who just have a few things to sell. Watch the ratings and reviews just as you would on eBay, but it is mellower.

Release the vinyl on Tee Pee records here in NY. Tony is the man...

Good luck with Vol. 2. I have managed to track down most of the tracks..thankfully The United States Of America got a full reissue album! I still need the "Killing For Satan" track from an early podcast, but that's gonna be impossible to find...and I dig, beleive me I dig.

Dead Meadow is impossible for US people too.

Small world

Small world, Spookypaw! My friends in Hopewell are on TeePee, and they've got the lovely Maplewood and lots more great stuff.

The internet is just insane for all the music that's suddenly at your fingertips. I solve the problem by never shopping online (liar!)
