re-awaken the beasts

Post by mattius » Fri Mar 07, 2008 5:54 am

Hey guys, it's been awhile since anyone posted some new stuff in this thread and I was wondering if any of y'all out there had done any new customizations? (<--- is that a word?)

So far all the work in here is SICK. Also, has anyone tried any new colorways? And last request I promise, anybody have any pictures of RIT dyed Finders Keepers?

O's 2 my fellow J Led fanz! :partyman:

I have about a bunch of Deras waiting to be skeleton'd up like the one I did for the Dunny swap. All different colors of course. I'll be sure to post them here when I get them done.

Post by Smash » Sat Mar 08, 2008 2:31 pm

I think the bodies on the Finders Keepers dolls aer actually kinda awesome in and of themselves. I'm surprised nobody has done more customs of these guys. You guys out there?

we are getting back into customs this year........just bought a handful of these, and looking forward to cutting into them. we did a firecat a while back, and it was a lot of fun to work on......these should be no different!.......allthough Joe's toys are kinda sacred cows, they are a hoot to customize.

WOOT

Post by Smash » Sat Mar 08, 2008 3:30 pm

Yeah, glad to see others trying to do something with these guys. The pics that were posted in this thread of the early customs made into a lot of toy blogs here in europe... people are hungry for more, myself included.

I think that cop/pig was hilarious, and I agree that JLed's toys are kinda sacred, but I think he would get a real laugh out of that... the doughnut was priceless.

Question: I'm pretty obsessed with J Led's toys... and I know some people were disappointed with the quality of the Finders Keepers factory paint jobs.... smudges, wet paint, etc. This may be insane, but, the seams in the models and where joints meet were more of a problem for me... so, what I was thinking was using milliput to fill in the cracks, buff down the seams and repaint them. Is this insane? Anyone ever try something like that?
