i second the motion that Chicago had the cows.

I know for a fact, that Pittsburgh had Dinosaurs everywhere, for a good year or so...

(Carneigie Museum > Andrew Carneigie > Pittsburgh)

i would assume Chicago had the cows (Meat Packing Industry)

That Mickey is awesome. That's all around LA or Disneyland? Here's the city stuff as I remember:

Chicago-cows
Cincinatti-pigs
New York City-apples (my buddy did a disco ball type one that was pretty sick)
Pittsburg-dinos

Anymore?

i thought NYC had cows too and that's what kicked the whole thing off...

D.C. had the "party animals" which were elephants and donkeys. my friend did a donkey - it was sick (literally).

The cow thing was known as the 'Cow Parade'

We had it over here in Manchester last year for a few months, and there are still a few here. It toured all over the world (the US, spain, the UK...)

I loved seeing all the cows all over NYC that year. Some of them were incredible!
I can't remember where, but someplace had dogs. German Shepards to be specific.

I thought the idea of cows in nyc was so stupid - chicago has them b/c they are a city with a huge beef processing industry - why did ny have cows?
NY needed apples or dogs and cats.
Most ny'ers prolly haven't seen a real cow.

the cows were just another sign of the lack of originality in ny these days. that and the influx of suburban stores - Olive Garden, Dunkin donuts, starbucks, Fridays or whatever kitschy bar/restaurant chain. Ick. soon - Target.

i wish they were good artist that customized these....the charlie brown dude, Charles Shultz(?) lived around these parts...we've got an airport, and a park named after him...its creepy. But it was mostly business's and local artist who did um' up....it could have been cool.

Yeah, I remember the Cow Parade when it hit in Chicago. That was like 7 or 8 years ago. Then I think the concept spread out after that was deemed a success. I still have some pics of the Chicago cows somewhere.
