making a toy

Post by JamesKid » Mon Apr 07, 2008 8:53 am

hey
i study art at school and as part of the course i get to choose the subject, for one i wanted to make a toy.

i had an idea of making a toy out of clay and then casting it in plastic or rubber and then use plastic to make the actual toy.

i saw this idea on a guys blog a while ago where he documented how he did it and i was woundering if anyone knoew it

also i was woundering if anyone had any ideas on techniques or materials i could use

cheers
james

Hei,

you can checkout my stuff at www.das-mo.net. It is all done in house. I use Mold Max silicone and Smooth Cast resin.

You might also want to have a look at Dave´s blog at davepresslerart.com for his monkey project docu.

This one helped me last year: http://www.tesselate.me.uk/tessetoys/html/guide1.htm

There is plenty stuff around! Please read the FAQ and use the search!

Good luck!
