I am curating a group gallery show based on The Wu-Tang Clan coming up this Friday and one of the artists, Rob Warnick, did a custom 8" Dunny for the show.
The artist is Rob Warnick. This is actually Rob's first foray into Vinyl toys but he is a senior designer at one of the country's largest design agencies, LPK and he has also created plenty of official gig posters for Cake, Death Cab for Cutie, Guster, The Arctic Monkeys, The Wallflowers, Modest Mouse and more.
Rob's made the Dunny for for an Art show that is opening on Friday February 24th called For The Children: Artwork dedicated to and inspired by the legend of The Wu-tang Clan. It is a group show featuring 18 artists across multiple formats including mixed media, sculpture, print making, photography, woodworking, fiber, needlepoint, painting and drawing.
Rob's Dunny will be for sale at the show Friday night but if it doesn't sell it will be available at 1pm on Saturday Feb 25 at both the show's official website: http://www.wutangisforthechildren.com
and at Rob's own webstore: http://warnickart.com/store/
You can also preview all of the art at https://www.facebook.com/events/1888739638079687/
The Dunny is titled "Fifty Gold, Sixty Platinum" and will sell for $250. Rob will be donating all proceeds to Elementz, A hip-hop based inner-city youth center here in Cincinnati, OH.
