I just finished this up for JayJayFool's yeti collection:

Back:

How the original 8" Dunny shape is used:

Glamour shot:

I've got a whole bunch of progress pictures for this (The extended arms are actually made out of 8" Dunny ears) but they're all on my camera which I lent to a friend. So I'll post them up soon. A huge thank-you to JayJayFool for allowing me to make this!

Next up: Customs for Lfarnc (Finally!), and MW3!

Yeah, hard to tell that it was even a dunny, thanks for showing how you converted it. Really cool!

Lost for word because not only is it beautifully executed but really outside the box (in a tremendously good way).

Would love to see a close up of that snowman in the back too!

Jay, show us this Yeti collection when this comes in. I need an update!

Haha, it's all in there. The face of the yeti is the (upside down) torso of the Dunny. So the Dunny's legs are the bottom part of the yeti's arms. The rest of the yeti's arms are polymer clay with the Dunny's arms in tact and stuck in the top. Does that make sense? Haha, I'll get the work in progress pics up soon, it'll be a lot easier to explain then.

Thanks so much to everyone for the kind words!

i love how you kept the strong base sculpt of the dunny, and the major curves and lines are all there (ears, face, mouth, body, feet), but you made it completely different and original. awesome! going up on spankystokes in a bit :)

Great job Pause, love the sculpting, painting, concept, the crushed snowman, just not sure about the arms coming out of the head, but hey I'm yet to see a real yeti, so nice one.

Here's a couple progress pics:

This is how I made the Yeti's arms. The white parts that you see there are actually 8" Dunny ears. I used the ones that come as that Dunny "hat" with the 7" Munny, rather than slicing them off a whole Dunny. The hands line up with the base of the Dunny ears perfectly. So rather than having the arms be solid clay, I just built around the Dunny ears. I also ran wire through the entire thing and into the Dunny's foot for added strength, as well as so I could bend it where I desired.
Image

For the base of the Yeti, I cut out a circle of wood, and using two screws, I attached the tops of the Dunny ears to the base. I then stuck Mighty Putty (Billy Mays style) around the tops of the Dunny's ears to give it some strength. And started with the sculpting.
Image

From there it was just a bit of sanding, aaaand finished!:
Image

Also, here's the concept sketch for it:
Image

Thanks again to JayJayFool for letting me frankenstein his eggy Dunny!
