I wish this were true.. :(
I pulled two JPKs and a Pac, and my friend pulled a Junko..

I guess I'm too yolked to feel any significant difference..

Have you tried weighing it with your off hand? I'm right handed but if I test the weight with my left hand it's more obvious to me. Just a thought.

My case came today, the worst layout IMO. The Attaboy/Nakanari combo with pink Taras. Mostly wanted a Junko and Bell. Oh well, guess I'll be using those Living Social vouchers to get BBs.

This was my case exactly, I wasn't really upset because I wanted Nakanari but it would have been nice to see a black Tara :?

I love the Nakanari, but not a fan of the Attaboy at all, and no black Tara's is lame.

I love the dunny's but the ratios are crap. It really wasnt the ratio more the case layout. I understand there are mainly 4 spots for better ratio dunny's which is fine. but the rest should be random. The fact they are side by side is a joke, showing it was intentional and far from random. I think most people ended up with 8 dupes, 40%.... It also screws up chances of getting a common dunny, which should not happen. I didnt get a Ketnet.
Was my worse case by far. I really wanted Ketnet, Bell, and Junko...kronk in dreams. I got the 3 crappiest possible. Atta boy, Nakanari, and JPK green.

Howdy,

I visited my local toy store yesterday after compiling some numbers, because...well, I like science. The store had 3 sealed cases I could see & one open case. They had 4 or 5 on display & none of them were anything special, except for the Sucklord.

The boxes which remained in the open case were mixed up a little, so I didn't do any blind pulling...but now that I think about it, maybe I should have since I think the 4 or 5 they had out may have been the boxes missing & well since they didn't seem to have pulled anything special.

Anyway, below are 3 charts which I complied from this thread (and with my luck someone will use this at my store), so for the betterment of the community at large & quite possibly cutting off my own arm here are the charts.

Image
This shows the total chase(?) figures found in the various spots.

Image
Of those, these are the ones which were the Jon-Paul Kaiser (JPK) figure variants.

Image
And these are where the chase figures minus the JPK's were found.

I believe this last image is the most helpful.

Good hunting!
..unless you are from my area...then game on!

*The numbers were compiled based on the images in this thread & those posts where the author actually typed out the layout of their box. I did not use any post which stated their box was just like so & so's.

Howdy,

A question arose from a board member about my post showing case layouts & since one person has this question it stands to reason others do as well.

I went through the 10 pages of posts in this thread (as of my original post) & counted up the number of chase figures which were reported either by picture or by a member writing out their case layouts:

i.e. (a made up written out case)
Ping-Pong-JPK-JPK
Junko-Pac-Mad-Mad
Triclops-Triclops-Attaboy-Kronk
Sergio-AB-Bender-Ping
Pong-Scribe-Nakanari-Sergio

I did not count members who Replied to a post indicating their case layout was the same as or close to another members.

For my purposes I designated Chase figures as follows:
    Black Tara
    Andrew Bell's
    Kronk
    Nakanari
    Attaboy
    Junko Mizuno
    jon-paul kaiser

The first row of figure one (3,2,14,17) is the back of the box if it were flat & you were looking at it as it is intended to be displayed in the store.

The first column (3,4,14,2,13) is the left hand side of the same box.

(3) from the first row - first column represents 3 figures from the above Chase List were reported to have been found in said spot.

Looking at the first figure would lead someone to dive into Row 3 & maybe Row 5 for pulling Blind Boxes, however let's look at Figure 2.

Figure 2 is the total jon-paul kaiser figures reported by members as found in their cases no matter the color. As a side note, my favorite two from this series are this one & the Sergio Mancini design - pretty sure I don't have to explain why.

If we subtract the numbers in Figure 2 from Figure 1, we have Figure 3.

Figure 3 represents the placement of reported chase figures minus the jon-paul kaiser figures as indicated by members of this board. From this limited amount of data we can conclude the idea spots are:

Row 1 Columns 4 & 5
Row 5 Columns 1, 2 & 4

Row 5 Column 3 is also very nice, but the spots indicated just previous have shown to be 2 times more productive in pulling Chase Figures than any of the others.

Another few bits of data we can pull from these figures is Row 4 should be avoided at all costs for pulling Chase Figures & Row 3 should be your target if you are after the jon-paul kaiser variants. Also, if you are targeting the jon-paul kaiser figures then avoid Row 1 Column 1 as well as Row 5 Columns 1 & 2.

As a side note, in going through the data I did come across a few members who reported cases which were much unlike the others. Their Chase Figures were in odd spots when compared to the other members & in one case (situation) the doubles in the case were in the same Row, but were not next to each other. Mishap at the factory in placement or not, I do not know.

Again, good hunting (unless you are in my area, then get in line & the line is behind me...where ever I am at the moment)!

Pulled this layout on my second case. Happy to have the black Tara but a little bummed that the second case only had one piece that wasn't in the first one.

For what it's worth, my two Kronks came from different locations but both cases had blue JPK and Attaboy & both times I've found the green JPK the case has had Nakanari & Attaboy.

Okay so pretty much buying a case in this series is setting your self up for failure.
The trick to keep your self happy and get as many rare figures as possible
All you have to do is buy the first, third , and fifth row youll get just as much commons as chases.simple as that. :partyman:

All this layout info is great if you have a shop that actually has undisturbed cases. I don't know of any around here. I'm pretty sure KRNY refills empty spots with loose boxes, Toy Tokyo and MPH I think do the same, though I'm not sure. Either way, customers move them around. UO just has a bunch of loose boxes. Wish I could just walk in and pluck the sweet spots.

You can probably get away with it if you wanted.. A lot of times the boxes are just lying on the shelf open.. Most of the employees don't really 'get' that it's a surprise..

Finally getting around to posting my case layout, which is like many others posted.

J. Ketner ~ ~ J. Ketner ~ ~ ~ Junko M.~ ~ Andrew Bell

M. Gatti ~ ~ ~ M. Gatti ~ ~ ~ ~ Scribe ~ ~ ~ Scribe
(both "ping", no pong)

MAD ~ ~ ~ ~ ~MAD ~ ~ ~ ~ JPKaiser ~ ~ ~ JPKaiser
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (white & red)

Tara Mc ~ ~ ~ Tara Mc ~ ~ ~TriClops ~ ~ ~ TriClops
(regs - no chase)

PAC23 ~ ~ ~ PAC23 ~ ~ ~ ~Sergio M ~ ~ ~ Sergio M

+ Sucklord case special

I'm happy with my case. Of course I will still try for the more of the series, a "pong" to go with Ping. I have to have the Tara Mc "chase"! And I am a fan Attaboy too. It would be great to finish the series but there are always a couple that are priced too high for me.

It looks gray to me but I'd go for blue. Sorry for the confusion.
