Smuggle hope into Syria!

Image

this project has NOTHING to do with art, but if you're willing to help the people of Syria, who are going through some horrible times, you might wanna read more info and donate to a good cause...

hopefully some art related charities for Syria will be setup soon, and I'll do my best to find out about them and let you know..

this is not really a charity project, but it's a very positive, art related project, started by JR, so I thought I'd share the info anyways:

INSIDE OUT is a large-scale participatory art project that transforms messages of personal identity into pieces of artistic work. Everyone is challenged to use black and white photographic portraits to discover, reveal and share the untold stories and images of people around the world. These digitally uploaded images will be made into posters and sent back to the project’s co-creators for them to exhibit in their own communities. People can participate as an individual or in a group; posters can be placed anywhere, from a solitary image in an office window to a wall of portraits on an abandoned building or a full stadium. These exhibitions will be documented, archived and viewable virtually.

Chris Murray is working to raise money for another cause, Autism Service Dogs of America (ASDA), a non-profit organization that trains service dogs to assist individuals living with the special challenges of autism. He set up an online store to sell some of his original paintings, with 15% of every sale going to the cause!

Here are some of the works available:

All of the smaller pieces are already matted so they are ready to frame. The "Good Dog" piece is not yet matted but will be matted in whatever size mat the buyer wants.

not really charity in the real sense of the word, but British fine artist and designer, Insa, decided to sell these 12 original artworks for £150/piece in order to fund a trip to paint a building in LA:

Image

By supporting this effort, you'll receive:

- one of these paintings on paper (50cm x 34cm each)
- your name painted on the final LA wall as a thank you
- a photo of your name and a hand written thank you letter for your support.
- a goodie bag with t-shirt, postcards and stickers

The sale will go live at 4.00pm GTM (UK time) Monday 23rd April.

As a part of their 'Wild At Heart - Keep Wildlife In The Wild', charity gallery show (20% of all sales going to benefit 'Born Free USA' and the world's endangered species), ThinkSpace gallery is offering a free Jacub Gagnon mini-print to the first 100 people who donate at least $10 in cash or more via the Born Free USA donation box that will be on their counter opening night.

This is cash only as Born Free will be taking this donation box back up with them after opening night and just easiest for all to go directly to them.

This is not really a charity event, but it is a good deed art related cause, so please spare 2mins of your time to read and participate. Thank you.

Being a "street artist" in a Singapore (the FINE city), is close to impossible! 25 years old artist was arrested recently in Singapore for her 'My Grandfather Road' signs and stickers she had in public spaces. While all signs and stickers are in harmless and light humor of the local Singaporean culture, SKL0 is looking at a jail term of up to 3 years. Here are some of her public works she's been arrested for:

More artist's works can be viewed here -> http://skl0.tumblr.com/

Now, please help the appeal, sign the petition for her release -> http://www.change.org/petitions/mica-review-sentence-of-skl0-arts-censorship-in-sg

Thank you.
