Re: Itokin news

Selling the Ramune Nano that I had bought off Saint in order to purchase Astronauts. Wanted to offer it here before I try other avenues.

$150 shipped in the states (stealing his excellent picture)

Re: Are the KAWS figures at Toy Qube legit?

I'm pretty sure that they'd be legit as Keith, the owner of Toyqube, is friends with Kaws and has carried his figures in the past.

Re: Itokin news

It's not a QC issue. The ones with the visor were done on clear vinyl. Kazu then masks the visor and paints the rest of the helmet, thereby leaving the "glass" clear. The silver glitter astronaut is not painted (the silver glitter part that is). He poured them in silver glitter vinyl which means th...

Re: Itokin news

There were 2 silver astronauts at DCON2016 - one with a silver helmet, and one with a clear helmet. Yup, I know that but the silver helmet one doesn't have a clear visor like how other similar versions do so I was just curious why Same style but with clear visor https://truteknologyfiles.files.word...

Re: Itokin news

Wastemoremoney does have a head start as we've been in soft discussion over this the last few years. Also, a friend in Thailand. But I do always try and be fair and spread the joy. No decisions until I sell the nano. Appreciate it! I'd totally buy the nano to buy astronauts... Still majorly bummed ...

That is perfect! Works very well with the figure I think.

Sigh, so jealous of everyone making it out there... At least I picked up an astronaut from eBay for not too bad of a price.

Also seeking a mule too. :expensive:

Re: Huck Gee's Studio Is Closing.

I missed this. The only thing I know about is the cancelled Gold Life series. Any links or info? The only concrete thing I know is from a podcast he did on Adventures in Design where he talked about how someone went through KR and asked Huck to do a custom. He felt they were charging too much and s...

Re: Huck Gee's Studio Is Closing.

It's really sad to see him leave... I do wonder if part of his downfall was choosing to produce his stuff in-house, particular his Blanks series. I get that he probably wanted full control to ensure quality and perhaps keep all the profits but in doing so, he ate up a lot of his own time as well as ...

Re: Too Much Kidrobot???

It's Arcane, DTA and what's the third release this year? Time kind of blurs together for me nowadays. But like what 666ways2love said, I think the releases have been pretty different and unique so they probably speak to different collectors. And to me, I don't think the releases have diluted the KR ...

Although I'd rather have Itokin's own characters, I'm plenty happy to see his take on a Chinese classic.

Re: Five Points Festival

I'm going! I bought the VIP ticket more to support the DTAs then me thinking it's really that worth it. Listened to a podcast with Miranda on it and the DTAs are a huge amount of work without any real money being made for them so I like to support the scene when possible. They have some pretty estab...

Re: The Unofficial Official KAWS Toy Thread.

I think it's an unfair assumption to say that Freeny copied Kaws for the dissected look as 1) Kaws wasn't the first to do it, he's just the most well known for it in the current scene so there's probably some bias there and 2) Freeny does the skeleton, as compared to Kaws' innards. Kaws has a bit of...
